Project Information

Project Overview

The existing sanitary sewer mains will be replaced and upsized on West Dayton Street between North Lake Street & North Frances Street. The existing sanitary sewer is 18” clay and was installed in 1931. The new sewer will be 24” PVC. Within these replacement limits, existing sanitary sewer laterals will be reconnected into the new sanitary sewer main(s).  However, it is expected that all connected existing sanitary sewer laterals are made of PVC and in such condition that replacement of existing laterals is not necessary.

The City will coordinate this work with nearby UW-Madison facilities such that impacts to traffic, UW-events, etc. are minimized by this project.
