Temporary No Parking Signs

Temporary No Parking signs are used to restrict parking in non-metered areas for approved, short-term needs.

Typical Use

Temporary No Parking signs may be issued to:

  • Accommodate large moving trucks, storage containers, and other oversize vehicles

  • Facilitate construction or utility work on property and adjacent to the street

  • Prohibit parking for block parties, races, or parades

  • Accommodate funerals or weddings

    • City ordinance allows up to six meters, at no charge, for ceremonies
    • Receptions are not included in this accommodation

All requested locations are reviewed prior to approval

Cost

$2.00 per sign

Wedding and funeral signs are free, per ordinance

Posting & Enforcement Requirements

  • Signs must be posted by the purchaser
  • Signs must be posted at least 48 hours in advance of the requested no-parking period to be enforceable
  • Signs and posting mechanisms must be removed immediately after use
  • All materials must be properly discarded or recycled

Idling Reminder

Vehicles may not idle for more than 5 minutes
