Temporary No Parking Signs
Temporary No Parking signs are used to restrict parking in non-metered areas for approved, short-term needs.
Typical Use
Temporary No Parking signs may be issued to:
Accommodate large moving trucks, storage containers, and other oversize vehicles
- Storage containers require a Street Occupancy Permit
Facilitate construction or utility work on property and adjacent to the street
- Contractors may consider contractor hangtags as an alternative
- A Construction Street Occupancy Permit may be required depending on construction type
Prohibit parking for block parties, races, or parades
- A Street Use Permit or Parade Permit is required in advance
Accommodate funerals or weddings
- City ordinance allows up to six meters, at no charge, for ceremonies
- Receptions are not included in this accommodation

- All requested locations are reviewed prior to approval
Costs
- $2.00 per sign
- Wedding and funeral signs are free, per ordinance
Posting & Enforcement Requirements
- Signs must be posted by the purchaser
- Signs must be posted at least 48 hours in advance of the requested no-parking period to be enforceable
- Signs and posting mechanisms must be removed immediately after use
- All materials must be properly discarded or recycled

Idling Reminder
Vehicles may not idle for more than 5 minutes
