Garner Park and Path

Garner Park is a 41.83-acre community park bound by Mineral Point Road to the south, Rosa Road to the west, Whitney Way to the east, and Hill Drive to the north. Owned by the City of Madison Parks Division, the park features diverse recreational facilities.

The BRT project would widen the existing paved shared-use path on the north side of Mineral Point Road that runs through the park. This would require a 0.27-acre permanent acquisition from the park. The permanent acquisition would include about 10 feet of the existing path that connects Garner Park to Mineral Point Road. A 0.58-acre temporary easement would also be needed for construction-related activities. Once construction is complete, the .58 acre of land would be returned to parkland.

Access to Garner Park and its path network would be maintained for the duration of construction via multiple existing points of entry along Rosa Road and Hill Drive.
