Profile, Statistics and Indicators
Neighborhood Description: Lake Edge is a vibrant, friendly neighborhood situated among similar communities on Madison’s east side. Our boundaries are from Cottage Grove Road to the north, Monona Drive to the west, East Dean/Monona Golf Course to the south, and Stoughton Road to the east. In the heart of our community is Lake Edge Park. The Lake Edge Neighborhood Association (LENA) organizes activities and events that support and promote the neighborhood and surrounding communities. LENA is completely supported and operated by a diverse group of residents who live in the neighborhood. LENA aims to facilitate friendships between neighbors, connect neighbors with city officials, promote neighborhood beautification and improvement, assist neighbors in times of need, and provide a network to help residents manage local problems affecting our community. Some of LENA’s activities and social events include: Annual Pizza Party (winter), annual picnic (summer/fall), Earth Day clean-up, neighborhood garage sale, adopt-a-camper, volunteer opportunities, and bi-annual newsletter.
Neighborhood Boundaries: Cottage Grove Road on the north, U.S. Highway 51 (South Stoughton Road) on the east, Monona Drive on the west and on the south along a line adjacent to Monona Golf Course continuing along Ruth Street.
Neighborhood Statistics Indicators: The Neighborhood Indicators Project is a demonstration of key characteristics and various indicators that relate to the quality of life in Madison at the neighborhood level. Basic neighborhood information as well as housing, public safety, health and family well-being, economic, and transportation indicators by neighborhood is available.
Neighborhood Events: Annual Membership and Pizza Party winter, annual picnic summer/fall, Earth Day Clean-Up, neighborhood garage sale, and other activities during the year.
