2026 Week Without Driving
Week Without Driving is a national campaign that encourages everyone—but especially elected officials and others who help shape our transportation system—to go without driving for a week, a day, or even just one trip.
The idea is simple: experience what it's like to get around without a car. By doing so, participants can better understand the challenges many people face every day, including older adults, people with disabilities, young people, and anyone who can't afford to drive. Whether it's getting to work, school, the grocery store, or a doctor's appointment, the experience can offer valuable insight into how transportation works—and where it falls short.
The 2026 Week Without Driving takes place October 1–8, 2026.
