Quarter 3 2026 Update
Construction has started on the PV arrays. All modules have been installed on the maintenance building roof (3829) and the GreenPower crew is working on wiring the system. The roof replacement for the storage building (3901) is complete and the GreenPower crew will start installing racking and modules this month.

Project Overview
This project will install 1,200 kW of solar electric (PV) panels on two buildings at the Metro Hanson Road Satellite Bus Facility. When complete the arrays will generate ~1,530,000 kWh of electricity per year reducing operational costs for Metro. The array will be installed by the Engineering Division’s GreenPower program where trainees with little to no electrical skills are provided on-the-job training through solar installations on City buildings.

Quarter 1 2026 Update
Project planning and material procurement is underway. The Engineering Division’s GreenPower installation crew will start working onsite in late spring. 3901 Hanson Road’s roof is being replaced ahead of this project through a purchase of service contract.
