The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last forty-eight (48) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 6/18/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 6/20/2024, MPD received 844 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (130),East (159), Midtown (141), North (124), South (145), West (122), and Other (23). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Intoxicated Driver – 2:33am: Contact was made with a 24-year-old male driver/subject who was determined to be impaired. The subject was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense) and released to a responsible party. 

East/Domestic Disturbance – 5:07am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 53-year-old male subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject.  Subject is at-large.

East/Crash – 7:23am: Officers responded to an injury crash with two subjects conveyed to a local hospital. Traffic Investigator plugged in. Charges likely forthcoming. Investigation continuing. * A 45-year-old male driver/subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence causing great bodily harm (4th offense) and reckless driving causing great bodily harm.

South/Death Investigation – 11:44am: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (76-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

Midtown/Battery – 12:05pm: Officers responded to a report of a battery that occurred a few days prior.  Probable cause developed to arrest a 25-year-old male subject. Subject is at-large.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 2:15pm: A 39-year-old male subject, wanted out of Columbia County, was located and taken into custody without incident. The subject was turned over to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

West/Check Person – 7:39pm: Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Emergency detention sought/approved. Transport to Winnebago pending.

South/Domestic Disturbance – 10:17pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 40-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

South/Disturbance – 10:39pm: Officers responded to a disturbance. Probable cause developed to arrest a 27-year-old female subject. A 26-year-old female subject was arrested on outstanding probable cause for a previous incident – battery and bail jumping.

West/Disturbance – 10:43pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving two subjects. A 30-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. A 36-year-old male subject was arrested for substantial battery and disorderly conduct.

Central/Disturbance – 1:33am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for substantial battery.

Central/Assist MFD – 7:54am: Officers responded, along with MFD, to a report of several manhole covers having been blown off. Minor injuries sustained. MG&E on scene.

South/Death Investigation – 9am: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (55-year-old male). Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.

Central/Disturbance – 3:22pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving two subjects. A 53-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and numerous bail jumping charges. A 50-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, use of OC and numerous bail jumping charges.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 4:26pm: A 39-year-old male subject was arrested on a probation/parole hold. 

North/Disturbance – 9:10pm: Officers responded to a report of two subjects fighting with knifes. A subject was located with significant lacerations to their hand. The second subject was not on scene. Investigation continuing.

East/Disturbance – 9:24pm: Officers responded a disturbance. A subject was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital due to their intoxication level. No charges substantiated at this time.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 11:25pm: Officers responded to a report of a 34-year-old female subject intoxicated, yelling, and throwing glass bottles. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of meth.

Central/Assist Law Enforcement – 12:01am: Another law enforcement agency pursued a vehicle that headed towards downtown. The driver/vehicle crashed and the driver (52-year-old male subject) attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. Criminal charges forthcoming. 

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 1:24am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for substantial battery, 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, and threats to law enforcement.
