Attic Angels Greenway Repair

Project Overview

The Attic Angels greenway between Blackwolf Drive and the ponds has sections of badly eroded channel. The City has tried to do spot repairs that have not been sufficient to address the problem, but these areas are getting larger. Therefore, the City is planning to repair the channel with a project in the winter and spring of 2027. To repair the channel, the City plans to create a low-flow channel that is lined with rock riprap.

Currently, the City does not have equipment access along the channel area to be able to respond to any channel repair issues, or down tree concerns. Therefore, as part of the project, the City is proposing to add a 10' maintenance access path through the greenway. 

Additionally, the downstream ponds have been successful in helping remove sediment from our stormwater, which is their designed purpose. Some of that sediment has accumulated on the downstream end of the pond (in the far northeast corner of the east pond). This sediment is beginning to block the pipe that drains the pond. Therefore, while the upstream channel is being repaired, the City plans to have the sediment removed around the outfall as part of the scope of work as well. Construction access to the pond will be from the path along Globe Drive, as seen in the dashed yellow line on the figure below. 

Project Limits

The project limits are within the greenway from Blackwolf Dr to the greenway outlet to the pond, and then at the northeast corner of the east pond. 
 

Project Schedule

This project is scheduled to be constructed in 2027.
