Starkweather Treatment
Project Details
Project Information
The City of Madison is exploring innovative approaches to capture phosphorus and suspended sediment headed to our lakes in stormwater. One of the innovative approaches is use of coagulants to enhance to settling of particles and to strongly bind phosphorus to particles that settle to the bottom of detention basins. The city has compiled a presentation detailing the need and the treatment potential of coagulants in stormwater.
The effectiveness of multiple coagulants was thoroughly evaluated in the Coagulant Feasibility Report produced by Brown and Caldwell and the Frequently Asked Questions are answered in this document.
