Supervisor Orientation
Upcoming Dates
Course Description
Supervisor Orientation is a foundational training designed to equip supervisors with the knowledge, insight, and practical tools needed to lead effectively within the City of Madison.
Participants will begin by reconnecting with the City’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Service Promise to ground their leadership in our shared commitments. Building on this foundation, supervisors will assess the current state of their teams using the 5 Stages of Team Development and learn strategies to support team growth at each stage. The training emphasizes the supervisor’s essential role in shaping the overall employee experience and offers clear, actionable steps to foster a healthy and supportive work environment.
Throughout the session, participants will also be introduced to key City resources that provide ongoing support and development, helping supervisors continue to grow their leadership practice beyond the training.
