The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 02/03/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 02/06/2023, MPD received 914 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (164), East (206), Midtown (157), North (134), South (100), West (104), and Other (49). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

02/03

Priority calls only from 3:21 p.m. 8:10 p.m. due to calls for service.

EAST: Carjacking – 5:15 a.m.  The victim reported an unidentified suspect opened his car door and pulled him from the vehicle.  The suspect then drove off in the vehicle.  Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

WEST: Death Investigation – 8:08 a.m.  A family member discovered the 82-year-old male subject deceased in their residence.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

WEST: Mental Health Conveyance – 11:30 a.m.  Officers responded to a hospital to assist with two emergency detentions.

CENTRAL: Robbery – 2:28 p.m.  A suspect entered Park Bank and passed a note to a teller demanding money.  The suspect left the bank with cash.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Death Investigation – 2:39 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a 69-year-old male became unresponsive.  MFD paramedics performed life-saving measures but were unsuccessful at reviving the subject.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

MIDTOWN: Weapons Offense – 3:13 p.m.  Officers responded to the Lussier Community Center for a report of a victim with an accidental, self-inflicted gunshot wound.  The subject was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 4:57 p.m.  Journey Mental Health requested that officers assist with the emergency detention of a subject at a hospital.

CENTRAL: Assist EMS/Fire – 9:37 p.m.  Officers responded to the Sylvee where an elderly subject was reported down.  MFD paramedics transported the subject to the hospital.

02/04

CENTRAL: Check Property – 12:45 a.m.  Officers conducting routine patrol in the Buckeye Lot at 217 W Gilman St observed a handgun in plain view in a vehicle.  Two suspects (22- and 23-year-old males) were arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

CENTRAL: Check Person – 1:13 a.m.  Officers responded to the area of N Livingston St and E Mifflin St for a subject who was reportedly suicidal.  The subject was combative with officers and was cited for resisting and attempted battery to law enforcement.  The subject was transported to the hospital and left in the care of hospital staff.

CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 7:24 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault.  Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 7:46 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a 81-year-old female subject deceased.  Nothing suspicious on scene.?

EAST: Sexual Assault - 8:54 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a victim reported a known suspect had sexually assaulted her.  Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 12:04 p.m. A 65-year-old male subject was observed and appeared to match the description of the bank robbery from the previous day.  The subject fled and was detained. Evidence of the bank robbery was located on the subject.  The subject spit at an officer. The subject was arrested for armed robbery, resisting, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, discharging bodily fluids and an outstanding warrant.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 1:09 p.m. A 28-year-old female subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant.

SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 3:23 p.m. A 44-year-old female subject was arrested for outstanding warrants (10), misdemeanor bail jumping (8 counts), felony bail jumping (2 counts) and disorderly conduct.

WEST: Death Investigation – 5:01 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (48-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

EAST: Death Investigation – 11:01 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (35-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time. Autopsy pending.

02/05

Priority calls only from 8:28 p.m. to 12:41 a.m. due to calls for service.

EAST: Assist MFD – 12:29 a.m. Officers responded, along with MFD, to a vehicle fire. Fire extinguished. Fire not suspicious.

EAST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 3:09 a.m. A 16-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway. The juvenile left a note at home saying she didn't want to live there anymore.  Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. 

NORTH: Check Person – 3:23 a.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Contact attempted. Attempt to locate aired.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 4:54 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject passed out in a running vehicle. A 28-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

EAST: Check Person – 7:20 a.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation.  Officers disengaged.

EAST: Disturbance – 11:17 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital and admitted. Officers disengaged and will be called when the subject is ready to be released/conveyed to jail.

NORTH: Crash – 6:20 p.m. Officers responded to a crash with injuries. A driver was conveyed to a local hospital with serious injuries. A 67-year-old male was cited for inattentive driving. **Subject at the hospital passed away.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 9:48 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic criminal damage to property.

MIDTOWN: Drug Incident – 9:50 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted on two vehicles after an exchange was observed between drivers. A 20-year-old male subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver marijuana.  An 18-year-old male was arrested for possession with intent to deliver marijuana (party to a crime).
