Embracing Change

Embracing Change Quote by John P. Kotter

Embracing change is hard and important for organizational-wide change to be successful, and success will take all #TeamCity stepping into some level of discomfort. When people are open to new ways of working, it is easier to move forward together, solve problems and achieve success. A shared willingness to adapt helps reduce frustration, builds trust and makes the change more likely to be successful.

ADKAR Change Management Model

In this section, you will find resources, tips and learnings to help you move through the five steps of individual change known as the PROSCI ADKAR model:

  1. Awareness - becoming aware of the need for the change
  2. Desire - wanting to participate and support the change
  3. Knowledge - learning what to do differently
  4. Ability - being able to do things differently
  5. Reinforcement - keeping the change going

Understanding the ADKAR model & how it can help you move through change:

The first step in any successful change is awareness. Awareness includes making sure each of us understands the reason behind a change and why a change is needed.  Awareness continues as we identify which behaviors we might need to change, commit to unlearning those behaviors, and begin to re-learn new ones.
