Construction Update

Project Schedule

  • Overall Completion Date: November 1, 2019.

Anticipated Upcoming Roadway Closures:

  • No anticipated upcoming roadway closures at this time.

Stage: Stage 3- work consists of roadway and structure construction on Raymond Road, CTH M, CTH PD, Mid Town Road, and additional side roads throughout the project limits. Multiple work operations will be taking place on both sides of CTH M, CTH PD, and Mid Town Road.

Work this week (week of 6/17/19):

  • Crews will continue survey and layout operations.
  • Crews continue removing structure B-13-845 falsework.
  • Crews anticipate staining retaining wall structures, bridge structures, and culvert structures throughout the project.
  • Crews will continue Stage 3 grading and aggregate placement operations throughout the project.
  • Crew will place concrete curb and gutter on the east leg of CTH PD.
  • Crews will continue storm sewer installation between Flagstone Drive and Mid Town Road.
  • Crews will begin setting precast culvert sections north of Mid Town Road.
  • Crews will continue watermain and sanitary sewer installations south of CTH PD.
  • Crews will continue conduit installations, and lighting / traffic signal base placement.
  • Crews will continue erosion control and restoration items as necessary.
  • Crews will not be performing any work or hauling on the project during the period of Friday (6/21) through Sunday (6/23), due to the American Family PGA Golf Tournament.

Work scheduled for the next week (week of 6/24/19):

  • Crews will continue survey and layout operations.
  • Crews will continue grading and aggregate placement operations throughout the project.
  • Crews will continue storm sewer installation throughout the project.
  • Crews will continue setting precast culvert sections north of Mid Town Road.
  • Crews will continue watermain and sanitary sewer installations throughout the project.
  • Crews will continue staining retaining wall structures and culvert structures.
  • Crews will continue conduit installations, and lighting / traffic signal base placement.

Traffic Impacts -

  • One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained on CTH M, CTH PD, and Mid Town Road on the existing travel lanes during peak travel times.
  • Single lane roadway flagging operations will be taking place periodically throughout Stage 3 between the hours of 9am and 3pm and overnight between 7pm and 6am.
  • Please be alert when traveling the CTH M corridor.

General Project Information

The reconstruction of CTH M includes earthwork, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, base aggregate, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, HMA pavement, Structures B-13-845, retaining walls, street lighting, traffic signals. The overall work is scheduled for completion on November 1, 2019 with several interim completion dates.

Project Details

The Prairie Hill to Cross Country project extends from Valley View Road to Cross Country Road. The project is scheduled for design from 2011-2016 with construction beginning in fall 2017.  It is anticipated to take two years to complete with an construction end date of fall 2019. The project includes reconstructing CTH M to divided roadway with a median and curb & gutter.

Public Information Meetings - Construction Phase

Monthly Project Meeting

WisDOT, City of Madison, City of Verona & Dane County will host monthly project meetings open to the public to get updates on the schedule and ask questions. This is an opportunity for property owners, residents and businesses to ask questions to the contractor and project staff. The meetings will be held on the first Thursday of every month during construction at 2:30 pm.  The meetings are located at the Epic Annex located off of Northern Lights Drive in Verona, WI. Pre-Construction Public Information Meeting

Integrity Grading and Excavating (Prime Contractor) along with Wisconsin Department of Transportation held a Public Information Meeting regarding the construction of County Highway M in Verona. The meeting took place on Wednesday, September 27 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a formal presentation at 6:00 pm. The meeting was held at Verona Senior Center, 108 Paoli St, Verona, WI 53593.

Public Information Meetings - Design Phase

The City of Madison, City of Verona and Dane County held a Public Information Meeting on this project on December 8, 2011, 6 PM at the Verona Senior Center, 108 Paoli Street, Verona WI. Representatives from the City of Madison, City of Verona and Dane County discussed the proposed project and answered questions.

The second Public Information Meeting for this project was held May 24, 2012, 6 PM at the Verona Senior Center, 108 Paoli Street, Verona, WI.
