Construction Update
 

General Project Information –

The reconstruction of CTH M includes earthwork, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, base aggregate, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, HMA pavement, Structures B-13-845, retaining walls, street lighting, traffic signals. The overall work is scheduled for completion on November 1, 2019 with several interim completion dates.

  • Stage: Stage 2- work consists of roadway and structure construction on Raymond Road, CTH M, CTH PD, Mid Town Road, and additional side roads throughout the project limits. Multiple work operations will be taking place on both sides of CTH M, CTH PD, and Mid Town Road.
  • Work this week (week of 04/23/18): *Anticipated Night Work from 7pm to 6am*

  • Crews will continue survey and layout operations.

  • Crews will continue Stage 2 watermain and sanitary sewer installations.

  • Crews will continue installing temporary traffic signals at the CTH PD intersections. Mid Town Road temporary traffic signals are anticipated to be operation on April 24, 2018.

  • Crews will continue Stage 2 grading and complete surcharge operations.

  • Crews will continue storm sewer installation along CTH M in the Stage 2 limits.

  • Crews will complete temporary pavement widening areas from Cross County Road to Prairie Hill Road. Temporary asphalt is anticipated to be placed utilizing nighttime operations.

  • Crews will continue storm sewer installations on Raymond Road.

  • Crews will continue bridge construction at the CTH PD and CTH M intersection.

     

    Work scheduled for the next week (week of 04/30/18):

  • Crews will continue storm sewer installation along CTH M in the Stage 2 limits.

  • Crews will resume MMSD sanitary sewer installation on Raymond Road.

  • Crews will continue work on the temporary traffic signals the CTH PD intersection.

  • Crews will continue watermain work throughout the project.

  • Crews will continue Stage 2 grading and surcharge operations.

  • Crews will continue bridge construction at the CTH PD and CTH M intersection.

  • Crews may begin box culvert construction near Flagstone Drive.

  • Crews will begin to set temporary concrete barrier wall for Stage 2 work.

     

    Traffic impacts -

  • Flagstone Drive is anticipated to be closed on April 26, 2018 at 8am for storm sewer work. Flagstone Drive will be closed through April 27, 2018 and is anticipated to be re-opened by the end of the day, April 27, 2018. Please note the closure is weather dependent. Advanced notification on the closure will be provided via portable message boards.
  • Raymond Road will remain closed to thru traffic until further notice.
  • One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained on CTH M, CTH PD, and Mid Town Road on the existing travel lanes during peak travel times.
  • Roadway flagging operations will be taking place periodically throughout Stage 2 between the hours of 9am and 3pm and overnight between 7pm and 6am.
  • Temporary weekend roadway closures of CTH M and CTH PD will be allowed, however, are not anticipated at this time. Advanced notification of the closures will be provided.
  • Please be alert when traveling the CTH M corridor.
  • Project Schedule:

  • Overall Completion Date: November 1, 2019.

  • Interim Completion Dates:

    • June 15, 2018- Wellness Way and Meriter Way. (Local Traffic)

    • November 15, 2018- CTH M, CTH PD, Mid Town Road. (Switch to Stage 3)

    • November 15, 2018- Raymond Road, Meriter Way, and Wellness Way. (All work complete.)

Project Details

The Prairie Hill to Cross Country project extends from Valley View Road to Cross Country Road. The project is scheduled for design from 2011-2016 with construction beginning in fall 2017.  It is anticipated to take two years to complete with an construction end date of fall 2019. The project includes reconstructing CTH M to divided roadway with a median and curb & gutter.

Public Information Meetings - Construction Phase

Monthly Project Meeting

WisDOT, City of Madison, City of Verona & Dane County will host monthly project meetings open to the public to get updates on the schedule and ask questions.  This is an opportunity for property owners, residents and businesses to ask questions to the contractor and project staff.  The meetings will be held on the first Thursday of every month during construction at 1:30 pm.  The meetings are located at the OJ Noer Turfgrass Research Facility at 2502 County Highway M Verona, WI 53593.  This is on the west side of CTH M (S Pleasant View Rd) just south of the intersection of Flagstone Dr and CTH M. 

 

Pre-Construction Public Information Meeting

Integrity Grading and Excavating (Prime Contractor) along with Wisconsin Department of Transportation held a Public Information Meeting regarding the construction of County Highway M in Verona. The meeting took place on Wednesday, September 27 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a formal presentation at 6:00 pm. The meeting was held at Verona Senior Center, 108 Paoli St, Verona, WI 53593.

Public Information Meetings - Design Phase

The City of Madison, City of Verona and Dane County held a Public Information Meeting on this project on December 8, 2011, 6 PM at the Verona Senior Center, 108 Paoli Street, Verona WI. Representatives from the City of Madison, City of Verona and Dane County discussed the proposed project and answered questions.

The second Public Information Meeting for this project was held May 24, 2012, 6 PM at the Verona Senior Center, 108 Paoli Street, Verona, WI.
