Project Information

Project Overview

The proposed project includes construction of an approximately 0.6-mile-long, shared-use path on the south-side of Moorland Rd from Wayland Dr to Raywood Rd/South Towne Dr with a connection to the Capital City Trail. The project will create a safe bike and pedestrian facility along a stretch of Moorland Rd that is currently without sidewalk. The new path will provide a safe and direct connection for the Highland Manor mobile home park to access the nearby Elementary and Middle School on the west-end of Moorland Rd. The project will consist of removing the existing on-street bike lanes on Moorland Rd and bumping out the south-side curb line to make room for the off-street, shared-use path facility that will largely stay within existing City Right-of-Way and avoid major impacts to existing trees. The project will include storm sewer adjustments as needed as well as new path lighting along the shared-use path.
