6/1/2023 Update:
The West Towne Path – Phase 3 project has been awarded to Parisi Construction. Work is scheduled to begin the week of June 5, 2023. The project is anticipated to go till mid-to-late August 2023. Lane closures on S Junction Rd, Watts Rd, Plaza Dr, and Commerce Dr will occur as needed. At least one-lane in each direction on all streets will be maintained for a majority of the project, with the exception of Plaza Dr which will be converted to a one-way street for southbound traffic-only (Commerce Dr to Watts Rd) for the duration of the project. All commercial driveways will remain accessible at all times throughout construction, except immediately during paving operations.
Project Overview
The City is proposing a new extension of the West Towne Path that will connect the existing paths from Commerce Dr to S Junction Rd. The proposed off-street, multi-use path would be 10-ft wide and follow along the north-side of Plaza Dr and Watts Rd, which would be partially reconstructed to fit the path within existing City Right-of-Way. The proposed project would also include bike/pedestrian crossing improvements at the intersections.
