West Washington Avenue Resurfacing
Last Updated: 04/22/2021
On April 20, the Common Council approved the W. Washington Ave. project. We’re continuing to work on preparing the final plans and specifications for construction, and this project is scheduled to go out for bids in early May.
The purpose of this project is to resurface the street and replace utilities on West Washington Ave between Bedford Street and Broom Street. Proposed work includes removal and replacement of asphalt pavement, replacement of water main, sanitary sewer main and laterals, storm sewer and private storm sewer connections, installation of pedestrian street lighting, and replacement of curb and gutter, drive aprons, and sidewalk as needed. Crews will also install a protected intersection for pedestrians and bicyclists at the intersection of W Washington Avenue and Bassett Street. Crews will also install a parking protected bike lane on South Bassett Street between West Washington Avenue and West Main Street.
