Editing & Writing

Onsite Signage
- Create and/or review public-facing signage, event flyers and kiosks throughout the park system.
- Often working with Document Services to create.

Website
- Oversee, create and/or edit all of the Parks website content for the division (except OBG) – nearly 800 pages of content – Parks, WPCRC, golf, Goodman Pool, projects, special events, each park from A to Z, and 30+ amenities.
- Create, edit and/or manage posted events, including public information meetings.

Photography & Videos
- Manage the Parks photo library.
- Oversee Parks' photography contest.
- Design and produce Parks' annual wall calendar.
- Create and edit videos; work with the City's Media Team to create videos.
- Check out the City's photo library, available on City network only.
Tell Our Story
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to best tell our stories – using images with each season to bring Parks' unique and interesting stories to life.
- Craft messages on trending topics using the tools currently available.
- Tools include: website, news releases, social media, blog, photography and videos.
Media
- Write, edit and distribute news releases.
- Respond to and facilitate media inquiries, working with content experts to craft or edit our messages.
- Distribute "Madison Parks in the News” to all staff, BPC and MPF board.
Social Media
- Madison Parks platforms: Facebook(link is external), Instagram(link is external) and YouTube(link is external).
- Oversee Golf Facebook(link is external) and Instagram(link is external) and WPCRC Facebook(link is external).
- Create and oversee social media messaging, creating engaging stories and timely information.
- Monitor activity and trends; respond to questions and comments as needed.
Annual Report
- Design and produce Parks annual report, typically finalized by March 31 each year.
Email Newsletter
- Create and/or edit and distribute e-newsletters: Parks newsletter, volunteer newsletter
- Subscriptions include: Parks news, golf, volunteer, and WPCRC.
Blog
- Write and edit stories and messages for Parks online blog.
