The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 6/21/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 6/24/2024, MPD received 1,336 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (256),East (243), Midtown (226), North (222), South (171), West (193), and Other (25). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 3:23am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

Midtown/Adult Arrested Person – 11:36am: Officers responded to a Department of Corrections office due to a 42-year-old male subject was not cooperative. The subject was resistive with DOC staff.  The subject was detained/arrested.  Charges forthcoming. 

West/Domestic Disturbance – 12:49pm: Officers responded to a disturbance. A 17-year-old female subject was arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct. A 26-year-old male subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic criminal damage to property, and resisting. Child Protective Services notified. Child released to a grandparent.  

South/Mental Health Conveyance – 1:12pm: Journey Mental Health requested officers to locate and taken into protective custody a subject with a Chapter 51 return.  Subject admitted to a local hospital and officers disengaged at this time.

South/Mental Health Response – 2:22pm: Officers responded to a disturbance that ends up as a medical call with a possible intentional overdose. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health plugged in. The subject was voluntary and officers disengaged.

Midtown/Domestic Disturbance – 2:56pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic strangulation, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic intimidation of a victim.

Central/Check Person – 8:53pm: Officers responded to a report of a male subject (34-years-old) acting erratically and running after women. Officers arrived in the area and the subject attempted to flee on foot. The subject was contacted and detained, while the subject actively resisted. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting causing injury, and bail jumping.

South/Check Person – 11:59pm: A subject was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. Due to the subject's intoxication level, they were conveyed to Detox. Evaluation to continue after subject has sobered up.

Central/Disturbance – 2:14am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 42-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.   

Midtown/Runaway Juvenile – 7:56am: A 16-year-old female was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The juvenile was located and returned home.

North/Strong Armed Robbery – 11:56am: Victims reported being robbed by a male subject who stated they had a gun (none observed). Investigation continuing. Robbery reported to have occurred 20 minutes earlier.  *A 43-year-old male subject was identified as the suspect. The subject was contacted and arrested for armed robbery and bail jumping.

North/Strong Armed Robbery – 12:21pm: A subject reported being robbed by a male subject who threatened use of a weapon (none observed). Investigation continuing. *Same subject description as the above call. *A 43-year-old male subject was identified as the suspect. The subject was contacted and arrested for armed robbery and bail jumping.

South/Domestic Disturbance – 2:59pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 62-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

East/Enforcement – 9pm: Officers conducted an enforcement operation in the area of East Towne Mall in response to an unsanctioned racing-related event. Over 80 citations were issued (speeding, reckless driving, and trespassing).

West/Domestic Disturbance – 9:14pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, disorderly conduct, suffocation, and false imprisonment.

Central/Disturbance – 10:20pm: Officers responded to a disturbance. A 41-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct. Another male subject was taken to detox (and will subsequently transported to jail on outstanding warrants).

Priority calls only from 5:41pm-10:23pm due to calls for service.

Central/Battery – 4:18am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.

South/Domestic Disturbance – 6:53am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

Midtown/Child Abuse – 8:26am: Officers responded to a local hospital where a minor was brought in by their mother to report that the minor was forced to do drugs with a family member. A second victim identified. Safety plan developed. Investigation continuing.

South/Disturbance – 9:30am: Officers responded to a report of a 41-year-old male subject with his hands down his pants inside a business where there were adults and children. Lewd/lascivious behavior charge not able to be substantiated. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Midtown/Disturbance – 1:54pm: Officers responded to a disturbance at a local hospital involving a 26-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for resisting and attempted battery to law enforcement.

Central/Disorderly Conduct – 3:24pm: Officers responded to a report of a couple having sexual contact in a grassy area which disturbed other people. The subjects were contacted. A 29-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping. A 36-year-old female subject was cited/released for disorderly conduct.

South/Fatal Crash – 4:32pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. Incident Report on MPD's website completed.

East/Adult Arrested Person – 4:51pm: A traffic stop was conducted. A 52-year-old male subject fled on foot but was apprehended. The subject was arrested for resisting and drug-related charges. A 41-year-old male subject also attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. He was arrested for drug-related charges and outstanding warrants. A 53-year-old female subject was cited/released (possession of drug paraphernalia).

South/Missing Adult – 8:46pm: A 33-year-old female subject was reported as missing from her group home. Attempt to locate aired. Phone ping not an option. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.

East/Crash – 10:50pm: A pedestrian crossing E. Washington Ave was struck by a vehicle (which fled the scene). The pedestrian sustained non-life threatening injuries. Incident Report on MPD's website completed.

South/Intoxicated Driver – 11:23pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (37-year-old female) slumped over the wheel of a vehicle. The subject was contacted and found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense).

West/Death Investigation – 3:25am: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (75-year-old male). Nothing suspicious identified.
