Bus Stop Updates

The following bus stop updates will be discussed at the Transportation Commission meeting on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

(Westbound) University at University Bay (2820)
Stop proposed to be skipped by Routes C and J.
- This bus stop is served by Routes C, E, J, R, and 65. The multiple routes serving this stop can cause bus bunching and congestion on University Avenue.
- Eliminating the stop for Routes C and J will improve these problems.
- Passengers using Routes C and J can use bus stop 2131, northbound University Bay Drive at University Avenue, just around the corner.
(Southbound) Charter at Johnson
Stop proposed to be closed.
- This bus stop, served by Routes 28, 38, and 65, was historically installed for routes that came from the UW campus, southbound, and continued towards Mills Street.
- No routes currently use that path.
- To serve this bus stop, buses need to make a left turn to Johnson Street from the right lane, an unconventional movement, that has caused concerns.
- Passengers using this stop are directed to stop 0743, eastbound Johnson Street at Mills Street, about 550 feet (one block) away.
