“Good condition" suggests no major investment is needed. “Poor condition" suggests major reconstruction investment is needed.

Project Analysis

The Madison MPO Planning Area (MPA) contains a total of 169 NHS Interstate Highway lane miles, 477 non-Interstate NHS US/State highway lane miles, and 254 local road/CTH NHS lane miles.

The 2027–2031 TIP contains 50 projects that will be reconstructed (and in some cases expanded or extended) in the planning area, and 58 projects that will be resurfaced or reconditioned in the planning area.
