Ballot Drop-Off Sites

The Clerk's Office must receive your absentee in time to deliver it to your polling place on Election Day.  If returning your ballot through the mail, we recommend you mail it at least one week before Election Day.

Under the Voting Rights Act, voters who need help mailing or delivering their ballot due to a disability may get help from a person of their choice. The person providing help may not be the voter's employer, agent of the voter's employer, or officer or agent of the voter's union.  Otherwise, voters must mail or deliver their own absentee ballot.

If you prefer to return your absentee in person, here are your options:

  • City Clerk's Office (before in-person absentee voting begins)

210 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, room 105
    Weekdays, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

  • Any in-person absentee voting site

Deliver to Clerk's Office personnel on site during absentee voting hours. Check locations and hours.

  • Fire Station 1 Ballot Drop Box

    316 W Dayton St
Box is located just east of the main driveway. Drop boxes will be available until 5 p.m. the day before the election. Every day, two election officials empty the drop box , secure the absentees in a courier bag with tamper-evident seals bearing unique serial numbers, and deliver the courier bag and chain-of-custody form to two officials in the Clerk's Office.

  • Your own polling place on Election Day

While the polls are open, 7:00 am - 8:00 pm
