Special Olympics kicks off with the Torch Run

Today officers from MPD, Dane County Sheriff, Verona, Town of Madison, Middleton, State Patrol and others participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Some people run several miles, some bike all the way to Stevens Point and or to Portage.

 This is a fund raiser for Special Olympics Wisconsin and kicks off the State Games in Stevens Point starting tomorrow, running through the weekend.

The WIsconsin Professional Police Association is one of the major sponsors for the State Games.  Many of us go up to Stevens Point to help out running the events. 

What a great cause for law enforcement to support!
