On Tuesday, February 5th, the West District held our annual in-service at the Exact Sciences complex off of Schroeder Rd. Special thanks to Corporate Security Manager Scott Brinkman, Exact Sciences and the Findorff construction team for going above and beyond in hosting us for the day.
The morning consisted of presentations by Chief Koval, Sgt. Tieu and Det. Armstrong. We enjoyed lunch together on site while meeting in our platoons. In the afternoon, Middleton PD Captain Hellenbrand, along with Officers Loether and O'Connor, presented lessons learned from the September 2018 active shooter incident in their city. This was followed by hands-on active shooter training in the facility led by our patrol sergeants with assistance from the MPD Training Team.
