Private Rain Garden Reimbursement

The rain garden reimbursement program is available to private property owners who are voluntarily install in a rain garden. Those who are required by ordinance to install a rain garden or other stormwater treatment device are not eligible for the reimbursement. 

Applicants should use the Reimbursement Calculator. 

Applicants will only need to fill in the three yellow cells and the rest is automatically filled. 

Once a rough design of the garden, calculation of the drainage area and the form is filled out, the applicant should email pgaebler@cityofmadison.com for pre-approval. 

Once pre-approval is received, applicants can purchase supplies and construct their garden. Apon completion of the garden, receipts, photos and measurements of the final dimensions can be sent to pgaebler@cityofmadison.com.
