Public Transit

Metro Transit Bus

Over 9,700 residents in Dane County rely on public transit to get to work, and another 4% of the region’s residents do not have access to a car to reach essential destinations such as grocery stores, doctor’s appointments, schools, and workplaces.

The Greater Madison MPO plays a vital role in planning and coordinating public transit to ensure accessible, reliable, and efficient transportation options for all community members. By analyzing current needs and anticipating future demands, the MPO works to improve mobility, reduce congestion, and promote sustainable transportation solutions across the region.
