To help communities prepare for the rise of EVs, the Greater Madison MPO developed the Dane County Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Plan, providing practical strategies to expand public charging access.
Dane County Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Plan
This plan played a key role in helping Dane County secure $13.2 million in federal funding to install publicly accessible EV charging stations. The focus is on underserved rural areas, multimodal hubs, and multifamily housing developments—locations where at-home charging may not be feasible.
Through thoughtful planning, we can build a charging network that serves all communities and drives a cleaner, more sustainable future.
