Early Tuesday morning, 09/08/15 @ 3:06 a.m., MPD officers responded to 3200 block of Waunona Way (lake side) for a burglary which was possibly in progress. The owner of the home was monitoring his home while away via an internal security camera and called 911 to report someone in the home and moving the camera. Upon arrival, officers confirmed someone had made entry and stolen some televisions. A few moments later, at 3:31 a.m., a neighbor in the 2700 block of Waunona Way believed they heard the sounds of glass breaking. Additional officers and a K9 from the Town of Madison Police Department responded and another "attempted" burglary scene was found at a home in the 2700 block (lake side home as well).
As the K9 officer conducted a track of a scent pattern from the attempted burglary location through the Waunona Way neighborhood, they came upon a 32 inch Samsung television we believe was stolen from a nearby location. However at this time, we have not been able to determine where this television was stolen from as it did not match the desription of televisions stolen in the 3200 block.
On Tuesday afternoon at 2:59 p.m., a resident in the 2900 block of Waunona Way (lake side home as well) returned home from the holiday weekend and reported their home too had been broken into, and a 37 inch Visio television was stolen along w/ other items.
