MGO 27.09(5)(A) allows Building Inspection to charge a fee for reinspections. We do reinspections to ensure compliance with an Official Notice.

A visit to a property to clarify what needs to be done, or how to do it. These visits usually take place before work starts or while work is in progress. We do not combine reinspections and code conferences. A visit to the site to see if work was done is a re-inspection, not a code conference.
If an inspector visits a property and is unable to reinspect items listed on the official notice. These situations usually occur if an owner does not schedule reinspection.
A visit to a property to inspect work that has done to correct a violation of MGO Chapter 27. First, the owner of a property is issued an Official Notice. We may issue notices verbally and in writing. The notice has one or more due dates. Then, after the due date, an inspector will go out to reinspect.
