FYI, the For Our Future (FOF) & For Our Future Action Fund may be canvassing in the Midtown area. They notified MPD of their intent, and in an effort to mitigate concerns people may have about said activity, I wanted to pass along some information from the group, which is a registered non-profit. "Our standard operating procedure is to canvass between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 9:00
p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekends, since those times are when people are
most likely to be reached in their homes. FOF's canvassers are professionally trained and often
carry prominently displayed ID cards. They will also be carrying printed political literature with a
self-identifying statement that, in accordance with federal and Wisconsin election laws, informs that
FOFAF and FOF paid for the materials. FOF and FOFAF canvassers will abide by all "No
Trespassing," "Do Not Enter," and other signs posted on private property. Our canvassers will not
violate trespassing statutes and will leave any person's property immediately upon request. And,
consistent with court decisions on canvassing and solicitation ordinances, canvassers will cease
their canvassing activities at or before 9:00 p.m."
