On Wednesday 6/16 a traffic project was done from 2pm-6pm in the 6000 block of University Ave. This location was selected as this area parallels a heavily used bike path, is at an uncontrolled crosswalk and is just west of several uncontrolled crosswalks. Hello Midtown, FYI on Wednesday 6/9 from 6p-10p, 4 MPD officers including a member of our Traffic Enforcement Safety Team (TEST) worked a traffic safety initiative at the Beltline and Whitney Way. 28 stops were made (27 for speed and 1 for failure to move over for an emergency vehicle). … [read more]

On 05/16/2020, officers worked a grant westbound on the Beltline near Whitney Wy from 7 pm to 10 pm. With five stop cars there were a total of 27 traffic stops made for speeding. On 03/12/20, at 8:30 am, one of our TEST officers was working the Midvale Elementary School Zone. The crossing guard had traffic stopped for kids to cross. On Wednesday, 03/20/19, TEST did a spontaneous project with Midtown CPT officers enforcing speeding violations in the midtown section of the beltline. Roughly every 2 to 5 minutes we sent an officer after a violation of 74 mph or higher (19 mph or over). LOCATION: USH 12 WB at Whitney … [read more]

On Wednesday, 03/06/19, A TEST officer spent some time monitoring the right turns on Heim Ave. Between 7 am and 9 am there were 8 stops made for these violations. Offenders were warned and educated on the violation. While on the stops, the officer observed an additional 18 violations. [read more]

Today the TEST unit worked the Beltline at the Midtown and West district borders. Over the course of 3 hours, the TEST team made 34 stops, a rate of one every five minutes! Yesterday our Traffic Enforcement Safety Team (TEST) spent about 3 hours in the 200 blk of S Whitney Wy near Marathon.
