Smoke Alarms - Tenant & Owners Requirements

Smoke alarms provide an early warning of fire. They give you and your family more time to exit your home safely.

Often, home fires occur in the night when residents are asleep. One misconception is that a person will wake up from the smell of smoke. This is wrong, as smoke is a silent killer. Smoke contains many deadly gases. Some of these gases, like carbon monoxide, can put a person into an even deeper state of sleep. A smoke alarm is your first line of defense in the event of a fire.
