The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 5/14/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 5/15/2024, MPD received 409 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (69),East (76), Midtown (74), North (61), South (46), West (74), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Central/Domestic Disturbance – 2:25am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 43-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

Central/Missing Adult – 8:31am: A 29-year-old male subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.

Midtown/Crash – 11:47am: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. bus crash. Minor injuries sustained. Investigation continuing.

East/Crash – 11:47am: Officers responded to a head-on collision with serious injuries (non-life threatening) reported. Several subjects were transported to a local hospital. Investigation continuing.

East/Intoxicated Driver – 2:11pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject passed (42-year-old male) out in a vehicle with liquor bottles in plain view. The subject was processed for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).  

West/Missing Adult – 3pm: A 34-year-old female subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.

Midtown/Check Person – 3:40pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital by CARES. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Emergency detention sought/approved. Final outcome/placement pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago.

East/Retail Theft – 4:10pm: A 39-year-old male subject was cited for retail theft and arrested on outstanding warrants.

Central/Disturbance – 6:53pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 64-year-old male subject. The subject was located with injuries which a witness stated occurred when the subject took a fall. The subject was under the influence. The subject was transported to a local hospital and officers disengaged. Officers were called back to the hospital due to the subject causing another disturbance. The subject was transported to jail on a probation hold. The subject kicked a deputy during the booking process.

Central/Disturbance – 8:47pm: Officers responded to a disturbance where OC spray was utilized. A 32-year-old female subject was arrested for using OC to cause bodily harm/discomfort, disorderly conduct, felon in possession of OC, and felon in possession of a concealed knife.

Central/Disturbance – 12:39am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 46-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed with a hate crime enhancer and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Central/Disturbance – 1:23am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for intimidation of a victim, disorderly conduct, and a probation hold.
