The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 3/29/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 4/1/2024, MPD received 1,113 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (203),East (229), Midtown (161), North (224), South (107), West (171), and Other (18). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 7:58 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 8:40 p.m. to 11:03 p.m. due to calls for service.

NORTH: Armed Robbery – 4:33 a.m. A victim reported an armed robbery that occurred the day before involving a 25-year-old male subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 8:00 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 8:00 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 42-year-old male subject (not on scene). Victim sustained injuries requiring stitches. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 8:24 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (61-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified.

WEST: Mental Health Conveyance – 10:47 a.m. Officers took a subject into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. An emergency detention was sought/approved. Transport to Winnebago pending.

CENTRAL: Missing Adult – 2:38 p.m. A 36-year-old male subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.

WEST: Juvenile Arrest – 6:33 p.m. Officers responded to the mall for a disturbance involving multiple juveniles. Contact was made with a 14-year0old male subject who resisted officers. The subject was arrested for resisting and threats to law enforcement. The juvenile was given restorative justice for trespassing.

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 7:21 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 27-year-old female driver passed out at an intersection. The driver was found to be impaired. The driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense) and numerous drug-related charges.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 7:25 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old female subject. Contact is made with the subject who resists the officers. The subject was arrested for resisting, threats to law enforcement (2 counts), misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts) and felony bail jumping (4 counts).  

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 8:10 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle, firearm and credit card. An officer observed the stolen vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. A 55-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent, possession of fentanyl, possession of cocaine (repeater), possession of drug paraphernalia, credit card theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. No firearm recovered.

MIDTOWN: Battery – 9:08 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 25-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for physical abuse of an elder person and disorderly conduct.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 9:20 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 44-year-old male subject intoxicated and threatening staff at a business. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, threats to law enforcement and 4th degree sexual assault.

CENTRAL: Check Area – 1:40 a.m. Officers were in the area (Williamson St/Rutledge St) recovering a stolen auto when they heard several shots fired. Areas checked. No calls to dispatch. No reported injuries or property damage at this time.

CENTRAL: Crash – 2:56 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a rollover crash (W. Washington Ave/S. Bassett St). A driver was extracted from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver (33-year-old male) was processed for suspected operating a motor vehicle while under the influence). Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Check Person – 4:55 a.m. A caller reported that there was armed home invaders in their home. Caller has a history of mental health concerns. Officers responded and found nothing of concern.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 10:24 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 38-year-old female subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once she is located.

CENTRAL: Check Person – 11:00 a.m. Officers responded to a residence for a parent reporting an out-of-control child that they were physically restraining. Officers assisted the parent with ensuring the child took their medication. Officers then disengaged.

MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 1:22 p.m. Officers responded to a local hospital for a 25-year-old female subject causing a disturbance. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer, discharge of bodily fluids at law enforcement, resisting, threats to law enforcement and a probation/parole hold.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 3:52 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of an 83-year-old male subject. Entry was made to the home and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 6:06 p.m. An 18-year-old male subject, wanted for a hit-and-run crash, was contacted and taken into custody. The subject was arrested for felony bail jumping and cited for hit-and-run and operating after revocation.

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 8:00 p.m. Officers responded to a crash. A 49-year-old male driver was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense).

SOUTH: Check Areas – 9:21 p.m. Officers responded to the 1000 block of Moorland Rd for a report of shots fired. Officers were advised that the subject with the gun left in a vehicle. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver/subject (49-year-old male) pulled over but would not comply with commands. K9 deployed. The subject was taken into custody. 2 firearms were located/recovered. The subject was arrested for 1st degree reckless endangering safety, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense), eluding, carrying a concealed weapon, battery, threats to law enforcement and resisting.

EAST: Sexual Assault – 12:46 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 2:10 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for 4th degree sexual assault, disorderly conduct and resisting.

NORTH: Child Abuse – 9:04 a.m. Officers responded to a report of child abuse. Child Protective Services notified. No charges substantiated at this time.

SOUTH: Crash – 9:52 a.m. Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash. Officers were also dispatched to two parked vehicles being struck by the same described vehicle that was involved in the hit-and-run. The 64-year-old male driver was located/contacted. The driver was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. The subject was cited for operating without a license and hit-and-run.

EAST: Check Person – 11:00 a.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a child having a mental health crisis. CARES also responded. CARES transported the child to a local hospital and officers disengaged.  

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 3:39 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 47-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

SOUTH: Disturbance – 4:20 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 5:50 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

SOUTH: Drug Incident – 6:40 p.m. Officers responded to a 38-year-old female subject experiencing a drug overdose. Naloxone administered which was successful. The subject was transported to a local hospital. The subject was provided a felony order-in for possession of heroin along with a treatment program referral.

SOUTH: Disturbance – 7:02 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a reported 30 individuals. A 49-year-old female subject was arrested for obstruction.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 7:55 p.m. Officers responded to a domestic battery involving a 23-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic strangulation, domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping (6 counts).

NORTH: Check Person – 8:29 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted and voluntarily conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation. Officers disengaged.
