The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 04/21/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 04/24/2023, MPD received 1,084 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (225), East (186), Midtown (177), North (200), South (109), West (131), and Other (56). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 5:33 p.m. to 1:17 a.m. due to calls for service.

SOUTH: Child Neglect – 5:50 a.m.  While another law enforcement agency was conducting an operating a motor vehicle while under the influence investigation, officers learned the 31-year-old female driver/subject had left several young children at home alone.  MPD checked the residence and found the children at home alone in an inadequate environment.  Child Protective Services responded to find placement for the children.  Investigation continuing.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 6:44 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject (not on scene).  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the subject once he is located.

MIDTOWN: 911 Multiple/Nuisance Calls – 9:00 a.m.  Officers made contact with a 17-year-old male subject who created an ongoing issue due to his frequent misuse of 911.  The subject was cited for misuse of 911.

MIDTOWN: Sexual Assault of a Child – 9:44 a.m.  Officers received a report of sexual assault of a child.  Investigation continuing.

EAST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 1:36 p.m. A 12-year-old male was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. *The juvenile returned home.

WEST: Stolen Auto – 4:19 p.m. A vehicle was reported as stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. *The vehicle was recovered from the residential burglary call at 6:32 p.m.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 4:41 p.m. Officers received a request to check on two subjects inside an apartment that was supposed to be vacant. Two subjects attempted to flee out a window. A 43-year-old male subject was arrested for criminal trespassing, criminal damage to property, resisting, bail jumping and an outstanding warrant. A 30-year-old female subject was arrested for criminal trespassing, misdemeanor bail jumping, felony bail jumping, obstructing and outstanding warrants.

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 5:03 p.m. A stolen vehicle that was called in earlier in the day was located/recovered.

WEST: Check Person – 6:21 p.m. A female subject was called in as missing. City cameras located the subject walking and she did not appear to be in any distress. Areas checked but subject not located. At this time there is not enough information to list the subject as missing/endangered.

CENTRAL: Residential Burglary – 6:32 p.m. Officers responded to a residential burglary with the subject still inside the home. A 34-year-old male subject was arrested for burglary to building, criminal trespass to dwelling, operating a motor vehicle without consent and resisting.

NORTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 8:01 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a missing/runaway juvenile (14-year-old female). Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

EAST: Residential Burglary – 8:38 p.m. Officers responded to a report of two subjects breaking into a residence. Investigation continuing.

WEST: Intoxicated Driver – 8:53 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a vehicle stopped halfway in the road and halfway in a parking lot. The driver (46-year-old male) was found to be impaired.  There was a child in the vehicle. The driver/subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense with passenger under the age of 16).

SOUTH: Injured Persons – 8:55 p.m. Officers responded to a local hospital for two subjects that arrived with non-life threatening stab wounds. Both subjects provided vague statements to officers. City cameras checked and areas also checked on foot with no scene(s) located. One of the subjects (33-year-old male) was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. Investigation continuing.

EAST: Disturbance – 8:56 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject pointing a gun at someone. Subject with the gun not on scene when officers arrived. A 46-year-old male subject was identified, located and arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety and domestic disorderly conduct while armed.

NORTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 7:33 a.m. A 7-year-old male was reported as missing. Areas checked and the child was located/returned home.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 8:53 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male subject (not on scene). Subject located driving and a traffic stop was conducted. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and numerous traffic citations.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 12:05 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 55-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

CENTRAL: Strong Arm Robbery – 12:28 p.m. Officers responded to a delayed report of a possible strong-armed robbery that took place the previous night. Officers met with two subjects who reported a subject jumped one of them and took a purse.  City cameras reviewed with negative results of any incidents. Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Violation of a Court Order – 2:53 p.m. Officers responded to a court order violation. The subject (38-year-old male) was not on scene. Probable cause not developed regarding the violation but the subject is wanted on unrelated warrants. Subject remains at large.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 3:32 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 35-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic criminal damage to property.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 4:10 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disturbance.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 5:23 p.m. A wanted subject (29-year-old male) was observed. Officers contacted the subject to confirm his identity and he refused to comply with their orders. The subject was taken out of the vehicle and placed into custody. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, possession of cocaine and resisting.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 7:00 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located. *Subject located and taken into custody (domestic disorderly conduct, battery, bail jumping (4 count) and outstanding warrants.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 8:26 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male and a 22-year-old female. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting and misdemeanor bail jumping. The female subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery.  

MIDTOWN: Death Investigation – 8:40 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (21-year-old male). Evidence on scene suggests the death was self-inflicted. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time. Autopsy pending.

CITY-WIDE: Check Person – 9:40 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject with deteriorating mental health concerns. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. Subject not located at this time.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 10:45 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 25-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

EAST: Traffic Complaint – 10:54 p.m. Officers responded to numerous complaints of drivers/vehicles in the East Towne area doing burnouts. Officers observed the area and made PA announcements to those in the area to stop their behavior and to leave. Numerous subjects did not comply and stayed in the area. Numerous trespassing tickets were issued.

Priority calls only started at 2:50 a.m. due to calls for service. At the time of this writing the end time is not known.  

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 12:15 a.m. A driver was observed driving erratically and tossing something out the window. A traffic stop was conducted and the 34-year-old male driver/subject was arrested for possession of burglarious tools, a parole hold and outstanding probable cause.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 12:32 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 22-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 2:09 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and a 24-year-old male subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 4:12 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a driver slumped over in a vehicle. The driver/subject (32-year-old male) was found to be impaired. Charges forthcoming.  

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 5:52 a.m. Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated subject (24-year-old male) attempting to enter a residence. The subject was arrested for unlawful trespass to dwelling.

EAST: Recovered Stolen Auto – 1:28 p.m. Officers responded to a report of three subjects passed out in a vehicle (that came back as stolen). Contact made with several subjects. The vehicle was recovered. A 26-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 3:46 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

WEST: Disturbance – 3:59 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject with a gun at a convenience store. Information provided to the call taker was incomplete and some details were determined to be incorrect.  A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle matching the description provided and the driver was highly cooperative and had a different version of events. Video at the store was observed. No gun observed. No charges substantiated at this time.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 7:53 p.m. Officers responded to a 3-vehicle crash at S. Blair and E. Washington Ave. A 24-year-old female driver/subject was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (with passengers under the age of 16). Child Protective Services notified.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:17 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 41-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 9:31 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted. Open intoxicants were observed in the vehicle and a 42-year-old male subject showed sign of impairment. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), possession of cocaine and a traffic citation. A 39-year-old female subject was arrested for outstanding warrants.

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 10:18 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted after an officer observed a vehicle/driver going the wrong way on Milwaukee St. The driver/subject (30-year-old female) was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (first offense with passengers under the age of 16) and resisting.
