The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from 1/12/2024 – 1/16/2024. These narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

01/12
Priority only calls from 6:19 p.m. – 7:41 p.m.


SOUTH: Traffic Crash – 8:10 a.m. Officers responded to the eastbound beltline at Fish Hatchery Rd where a semi and two other vehicles were involved in a crash.

EAST: Missing Adult – 10:24 a.m. Family members reported a 39-year-old man missing. The man was listed as missing and an ATL was aired. Man located safe on Sunday. Incident report completed.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 11:26 a.m. Officers responded to the Beacon where the 59-year-old male suspect was causing a disturbance. Officers determined the suspect had an active warrant and took him into custody.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 11:57 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where the 25-year-old female suspect and victim were fighting. The suspect pulled the victim's hair and armed herself with a knife during an argument. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct while armed and battery.

MIDTOWN: Sexual Assault of a Child – 1:24 p.m. Officers responded to report of a sexual assault. Investigation continuing.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 2:23 pm. Officers responded to a subject feeling suicidal and damaging property.

EAST: Intoxicated Driver/OWI – 3:22 p.m. Officers responded to Lien Rd near Eagan Rd where the vehicle operated by a 63-year-old male slid off the road into a ditch. The suspect performed poorly on SFSTs and was arrested for his 8th OWI.

EAST: Disturbance – 6:52 p.m. Officers responded to a motel where the 53-year-old male suspect made unwanted sexual contact with the victim. Suspect was arrested and charged with 4th degree sexual assault, battery, disorderly conduct and resisting.

MIDTOWN: Traffic Crash – 7:44 p.m. Officers responded to the area of Mineral Point Rd and Nautilus Dr where a driver struck another vehicle and crashed into a tree. The driver was pronounced deceased at the hospital due to a heart attack he suffered prior to the crash.

CENTRAL: Disturbance Unwanted Person – 1:14 a.m. Officers responded to State St. bar where the 24-year-old male suspect had been asked to leave but refused. The suspect became combative when officers attempted to place him into custody. The suspect was arrested and charged with trespass, disorderly conduct, resisting, and battery to law enforcement.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 2:13 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where a 25-year-old male was found unresponsive due to an apparent drug overdose. Nothing suspicious on scene.

EAST: Death Investigation – 3:33 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where a 68-year-old male was found deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.

MIDTOWN: Death Investigation – 8:33 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where a 59-year-old man was found deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 11:20 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where the 17-year-old male suspect pushed the victim. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.

EAST: Disturbance – 4:22 p.m. Man threatened employees and caused a distrubance at a store. Journey Mental Health consulted. 

EAST: Stolen Auto– 4:58 p.m. Victim went out to heat up his vehicle following a work shift. Vehicle stolen.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:34 p.m. Officers dispatched following an argument between a couple. 36-year-old male arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Drug Incident – 6:31 p.m. Driver arrested for possession with intent to deliver cocaine and a probation hold. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 11:38 p.m.Officers called after a man made threats following a night of drinking. 24-year-old male arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed, carrying a concealed weapon and going armed while intoxicated.

SOUTH: Disturbance – 1:49 a.m. Man and woman got into an altercation which turned physical. Suspect arrested for disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Intoxicated Driver/OWI Arrest – 2:16 a.m. Driver arrested for 2nd-offense OWI and going armed while intoxicated following traffic stop.

EAST: Strong Armed Robbery – 2:40 a.m. Driver reported a man entered he vehicle in a parking lot along the 2200 block of S. Stoughton Road and placed her in a chokehold. Victim reported her property was stolen. Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Death Investigation – 3:26 a.m. Family member called to report an 84-year-old man had passed. Nothing suspicious on scene.

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Response – 3:32 p.m. Someone called for help after seeing a person, not dressed for the weather, on a frozen Monona Bay. Person taken to the hospital and Journey Mental Health consulted.  

EAST: Sexual Assault – 7:44 p.m. Officers contacted by another agency regarding a sexual assault. Investigation continuing.

Priority only calls from 6:30 p.m. – 7:37 p.m.
Priority only calls from 8:22 p.m. – 9:11 p.m.


NORTH: Disturbance – 12:04 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance where someone claimed to be threatened with a firearm. Officers respond and no weapon is located on either involved party.

EAST: Check Person – 1:45 a.m. Officers responded to a suicidal subject. Journey Mental Health consulted.

MIDTOWN: Weapons Offense – 5:33 a.m. Dispatched to a grocery store after someone observed a man enter the store with a weapon. Contact made with employees. Investigation showed an employee brought a pellet gun to help with  a bird problem.

CITY-WIDE: Storm Aftermath – 5:45 a.m. Officers responded to a number of accidents, roadway hazards and parking complaints. Most of these incidents involved icy road conditions.

SOUTH: Death Investigation – 11:48 a.m. Welfare check requested on an 87-year-old man who family had not heard from in several days. Man found deceased. Nothing suspicious found at the scene.

CENTRAL: Civil Dispute – 3:46 p.m. Officers responded to an incident involving child custody. CPS contacted and handling the situation.

SOUTH: Mental Health Response – 5:37 p.m. Officers able to connect with a woman refusing to go back inside her group home. Officers helped the woman calm down and safely return to her home.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 10:01 p.m. Suspect and victim get into an argument. Suspect threw an object at victim's child. Suspect arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and physical abuse to a child.

NORTH: Check Person – 11:17 p.m. Officers dispatched to an address for a check person call. While at the address, a man was taken into custody for a previous incident.

WEST: Death Investigation – 11:43 p.m. Welfare check requested on a 70-year-old woman. Woman found deceased at home. Nothing suspicious found on scene.

WEST: Residential Burglary – 11:50 p.m. Officers dispatched after someone heard a noise and saw three masked people inside an apartment building. Officers arrived to find forced entry to an apartment. Investigation continuing.

WEST: Battery – 12:39 a.m. Officers dispatched to a hotel along the 8100 block of Excelsior Dr. for an assault. 19-year-old suspect arrested for physical abuse of an elder and bail jumping.
