The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 08/24/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 08/25/2022, MPD received 403 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (76),East (86), Midtown (46), North (73), South (44), West (60), and Other (18). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 9:26 p.m. to 11:24 p.m. due to calls for service.

SOUTH: Stolen Auto – 6:30 a.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

SOUTH: Death Investigation – 11:31 a.m.  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject.  The subject (44-year-old male) was located deceased.  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Death appears to be medically related.  Nothing suspicious identified.

EAST: Death Investigation – 12:00 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (44-year-old female).  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Death appears to be self-inflicted.  Nothing suspicious identified.

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 12:08 p.m.  A Fed Ex delivery truck was reported as stolen.  Vehicle tracked, located and recovered unoccupied on Vera Ct. 

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 4:10 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 17-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. 

EAST: Non-Residential Burglary – 7:39 p.m.  A 30-year-old female suspect was issued a felony order in for burglary. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 10:10 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for resisting, disorderly conduct (2 counts), threats to law enforcement and spitting in public (city ordinance). 

EAST: Check Person – 10:38 p.m.  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject.  The subject was contacted and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation.  Journey Mental Health plugged in.  Emergency detention being sought.  Final outcome pending.

Priority calls only from 2:03 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. due to calls for service.

NORTH: Check Area – 12:57 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person attempting to get into MATC.  Other agencies also responded.  The suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended.  No charges from MPD but State Patrol developed probable cause and took over the investigation. 

EAST: Injured Person – 1:31 a.m.  A victim showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.  Incident Report on MPD's website completed. Investigation continuing. 

NORTH: Residential Burglary – 1:58 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary.  Suspect(s) not on scene when officers arrived.  Incident Report on MPD's website completed.  Investigation continuing.
