The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 4/8/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 4/9/2024, MPD received 384 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (74),East (69), Midtown (62), North (82), South (41), West (50), and Other (6). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Death Investigation – 10am: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (59-year-old male). The decedent had a history of medical/health concerns. Nothing suspicious identified. Medical Examiner's office responded.
East/Disturbance – 12:10pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.
Central/Death Investigation – 1:33pm: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (83-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
East/Adult Arrested Person – 2:27pm: A 55-year-old female subject was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, battery to law enforcement, obstructing, felony bail jumping, an outstanding warrant, and a median safety ordinance.
South/Stolen Auto – 3:56pm: A vehicle was reported as stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
Midtown/Check Person – 5:04pm: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. A subject is taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Emergency detention being sought. Final outcome pending.
South/Death Investigation – 6:54pm: Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a subject (70-year-old male) slumped over in a vehicle. The subject was determined to be deceased. A medical event is believed to have occurred. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
South/Intoxicated Driver – 8:30pm: A 27-year-old female driver/subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense).
East/Disturbance – 10:25pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 55-year-old male subject with a knife. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.
East/Runaway Juvenile – 11:02 p.m. A 13-year-old female juvenile was reported as a runaway. The juvenile has a history of running away. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was entered as a runaway in the appropriate databases.
