The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 07/29/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 08/01/2022, MPD received 1,255 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (267), East (251), Midtown (186), North (222), South (102), West (181), and Other (46). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 12:52 p.m. to 2:24 p.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 2:35 p.m. to 3:21 p.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 10:38 p.m. to 2:22 a.m. due to calls for service.

EAST: Recovered Stolen Moped – 3:11 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person loitering on the premises.  Officers located a moped in the street that was confirmed to be stolen.  The owner of the moped was contacted and made aware that it had been towed.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Disturbance – 3:31 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the suspect (54-year-old male) was pounding on the door.  The suspect continued to do so after the resident told him the police had been called.  The victim reported that the door was damaged.  The suspect left before officers arrived on scene.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for disorderly conduct and damage to property.

EAST: Check Person – 8:45 a.m.  Officers responded to a clinic where a patient arrived highly intoxicated and with bruising and black eyes.  The victim was unable to provide any information and was transported to a hospital.  Investigation continuing.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 10:49 a.m.  Officers responded to a business in the 2700 block of E Washington Ave where the suspect (34-year-old male) was harassing customers.  Officers determined the suspect had warrants for his arrest and he was taken into custody.  The suspect was also cited for disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 12:48 p.m.  Officers responded to an assisted living facility where a subject (94-year-old male) stopped breathing and did not have a pulse.  Subject pronounced deceased.  Nothing suspicious identified.

EAST: Weapons Offense – 2:17 p.m.  Officers responded to a business in the 2800 block of E Washington Ave where the suspect (46-year-old male) punched the victim in the face twice, knocked him to the ground and then stomped on his head while threatening to kill him.  The suspect yelled that he was going to shoot people while implying he had a weapon, greatly disturbing witnesses.  The suspect then went to a business in the 2200 block of E Johnson St where he displayed a gun and threatened an employee.  The suspect was arrested for 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, battery and disorderly conduct while armed.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 5:26 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the suspect (25-year-old male) exposed himself to another resident in his apartment building, making lewd propositions.  The suspect was arrested for lewd and lascivious behavior, disorderly conduct and resisting.

MIDTOWN: Stolen Auto – 6:46 p.m.  An employee at CarMax reported a customer's vehicle had been stolen from the lot.  The owner of the car was notified.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

WEST: Intoxicated Driver – 9:38 p.m.  An officer was finishing a traffic stop on the beltline when the suspect vehicle drove past without moving over for the officer's vehicle.  The suspect driver (61-year-old male) was stopped and performed poorly on field sobriety tests.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (6th offense).

EAST: Hit and Run Crash/Disturbance – 10:27 p.m.  An argument ensued between an unidentified suspect and the victim after the suspect crashed into the victim's vehicle in the 4600 block of East Towne Blvd.  The suspect fled on foot and remains at large.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Weapons Offense – 10:43 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where during an argument, two suspects (54- and 56-year-old males) punched and stabbed the victim.  The 54-year-old suspect was arrested for 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, battery and disorderly conduct.  The 56-year-old suspect was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.  Incident report completed on MPD website.

WEST: Drug Overdose – 11:30 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a subject was not breathing and unresponsive.  MFD paramedics revived the subject and transported him to the hospital.  No charges were substantiated.

Priority calls only from 10:43 p.m. to 4:34 a.m. due to calls for service. 

SOUTH: Disturbance – 12:29 a.m.  Officers responded to a night club where the suspect (28-year-old male) was threatening to fight people.  Upon being escorted out of the club, the suspect attacked a bartender, threw rocks at him and threatened to kill him.  The suspect was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.

CENTRAL: Drug Incident/Investigation – 2:10 a.m.  Officers observed an occupied vehicle parked in a lot which is posted for no trespassing.  Four suspects (three 23-year-old males and one 25-year-old male) were contacted and arrested for various crimes including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of schedule II narcotics, and trespassing.

CENTRAL: Suspicious Person – 3:42 a.m.  Officers responded to the area of E Gorham St and Wisconsin Ave for a suspect (37-year-old male) who was checking car doors.  Officers learned the suspect was wanted for outstanding criminal charges and took the suspect into custody.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 5:28 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence for an unresponsive subject (34-year-old male) in a vehicle.  A family member reported to police that the subject had slept in the vehicle overnight in the parking lot and was discovered unresponsive in the morning.  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious on scene.  Death appears related to poor health and medical conditions.

WEST: Death Investigation – 9:00 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the subject (37-year-old male) was discovered deceased.  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious on scene.  Decedent had a history of drug use and mental health concerns. 

CENTRAL: Bomb Threat – 9:51 a.m.  Officers responded to Willy St Coop where the suspect (30-year-old male) had left a note claiming he had planted a bomb.  The claim was unsubstantiated.  The suspect was arrested for making terroristic threats.

MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 4:27 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 69-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct.   

EAST: Disturbance – 4:48 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old male suspect.  The suspect resisted officers.  The suspect was taken into custody and conveyed to a local hospital.  Charges forthcoming include carrying a concealed weapon, resisting causing injury, numerous bail jumping charges and outstanding warrants. 

CENTRAL: Check Person – 6:53 p.m.  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject.  The subject was contacted and conveyed to a local hospital where he was voluntarily admitted.

MIDTOWN: Aggravated/Substantial Battery – 7:14 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance where the victim was punched in the face multiple times.  Suspect not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 9:30 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 41-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and discharging bodily fluids. 

NORTH: Sexual Assault – 9:40 p.m.  A victim reported being sexually assaulted.  Investigation continuing. 

NORTH: Disturbance – 10:40 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance with a reported gun involved.  Areas checked.  No disturbances located.  Officers disengaged. 

EAST: Disturbance – 10:42 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance with gun shots involved.  A victim sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect.  Investigation continuing. 

NORTH: Check Property – 11:38 p.m.  Officers responded to the area of Dwight Dr/Independence Ln/Congress Ave for shots fired.  No evidence of shots fired located.

MIDTOWN: Check Area – 1:41 a.m.  Officers responded to the Beltline frontage Rd near Whenona Dr for shots fired.  Casings located.  No property damage or injuries reported at this time.  Incident Report on MPD's website completed. 

CENTRAL: Fight Call – 1:49 a.m.  Officers observed a fight in progress.  A 27-year-old male suspect was arrested for resisting (2 counts).

NORTH: Disturbance – 2:22 a.m.  A victim reported that someone went through his vehicle and stole money.  The victim reported that the suspect pointed a red laser dot at him as well.  Suspect not on scene when officers arrived.  Investigation continuing.    

WEST: Check Area – 3:17 a.m.  Officers responded to the 7200 block of Midtown Rd reference shots fired.  Casings located.  No injuries or property damage reported at this time.  Incident Report on MPD's website completed. 

CENTRAL: Drug Incident Overdose – 6:25 a.m.  Officers, along with EMS, dispatched to a pulseless non-breathing subject.  The subject was revived (Naloxone administered) and conveyed to a local hospital.  The subject was given an order-in citation. 

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 10:19 a.m.  Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention.  Transport to Winnebago completed. 

WEST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 10:50 a.m.  A 13-year-old male juvenile was reported as missing/runaway.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. 

NORTH: Drug Incident Overdose – 11:25 a.m.  Officers responded to a subject experiencing a drug overdose.  MFD transported the subject to a local hospital.  Investigation continuing.   

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 2:12 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 58-year-old male suspect.  Charges forthcoming.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 4:02 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of a 33-year-old male suspect exposing himself in public.  The suspect was arrested for public indecency and resisting. 

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 8:06 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 44-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 8:11 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 42-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct while armed, felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping. 

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 9:50 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. 

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 11:23 p.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. 

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 11:32 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct and strong-armed robbery. 

MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 11:56 p.m.  A 29-year-old male suspect was arrested for criminal damage to property. 

08/01

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 12:53 a.m.  A 29-year-old female suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), driving with a suspended license, unsafe backing, threats to law enforcement (2 counts) and resisting. 

CENTRAL: Battery – 1:30 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of an injured subject.  A 32-year-old female suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, misdemeanor bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 1:49 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. 

CENTRAL: Check Person – 2:40 a.m.  Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject.  The subject was conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation.  Final outcome pending. 

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 3:09 a.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. 

MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 4:04 a.m.  A 27-year-old male suspect was arrested for misuse of calling 911.
