The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 1/29/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 1/30/2024, MPD received 358 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (58),East (62), Midtown (58), North (71), South (30), West (72), and Other (7). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 4:35 p.m. to 6:46 p.m. due to calls for service.

SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 5:37 a.m. A 60-year-old male subject was taken into custody for disorderly conduct, battery, intimidation of a victim and felony bail jumping.

SOUTH: Check Person – 6:44 a.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending.

WEST: Stolen Auto – 8:21 a.m. A vehicle was reported stolen from a parking lot. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 8:54 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 53-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

CENTRAL: Check Person – 10:02 a.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Final outcome pending. *Safety plan developed and officers disengaged.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 1:48 p.m. A 59-year-old male subject stole a victim's wallet and demanded money to return it to the victim. The subject was arrested for extortion, a felony warrant and a probation hold.

SOUTH: Mental Health Response – 2:23 p.m. A subject was transported to a local hospital for a Chapter 51 return. Final destination/placement pending. **The subject was transported to Winnebago.

EAST: Fraud – 2:57 p.m. A 45-year-old male subject passed fraudulent cash at a store. The subject was arrested for uttering/forgery. A 34-year-old female subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

WEST: Weapons Offense – 4:11 p.m. A victim was confronted by 3 unknown male subjects with handguns. The subjects stole the victim's vehicle. Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:54 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject on numerous charges once he is located.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 1:01 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the 40-year-old female driver/subject was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense) and resisting.

MIDTOWN: Check Person – 1:12 a.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital where an emergency detention was supported. Criminal charges also forthcoming for the subject for domestic disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 3:53 a.m. Officers responded to a report of an unwanted subject (46-year-old male). The subject was not cooperative with officers. The subject spit at officers. The subject was arrested (charges not known at time of this entry).
