The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 06/09/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 06/12/2023, MPD received 1,207 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (266), East (224), Midtown (178), North (205), South (113), West (194), and Other (27). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 7:00 p.m. to 8:12 p.m. due to calls for service.

Priority calls only from 11:02 p.m. to 2:32 a.m. due to calls for service.

MIDTOWN: Drug Overdose – 4:34 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where a 33-year-old man had overdosed.  MFD paramedics revived the man with naloxone and transported him to the hospital. No charges were substantiated.

NORTH: Check Person – 10:58 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where a woman was fighting with care givers and then ran into the road. Officers returned the woman to her residence. No charges were substantiated. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health and determined no further police action was necessary.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 12:20 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 43-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.  

SOUTH: Recovered Stolen Auto – 2:07 p.m. An officer located a vehicle reported stolen by the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 3:01 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

SOUTH: Assist EMS/Fire – 7:58 p.m. Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a child drowning. Another swimmer pulled the child from the pool. MFD paramedics transported the child to the hospital.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 10:13 p.m. Officers observed a firearm in an unoccupied vehicle in the Buckeye Lot. The 32-year-old male subject returned to the vehicle and was arrested for possession of a firearm by felon, possession of sched II narcotics and carrying a concealed weapon.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 10:56 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting and discharging bodily fluids at law enforcement.

EAST: Disturbance – 11:37 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

MIDTOWN: Traffic Stop – 3:37 a.m. Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Monroe St and Regent St. The driver/vehicle fled. Officers deployed spike strips. The 19-year-old female subject was arrested for eluding, resisting and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:34 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 25-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 8:47 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Investigation continuing.

SOUTH: Death Investigation – 9:20 a.m. Officers responded to a residence to check the welfare of a subject (69-year-old male). Entry made and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 12:32 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed, disorderly conduct while armed and a parole hold.

NORTH: Disturbance – 9:17 p.m. Caller advised that another driver/vehicle backed up into him in a parking lot. The caller confronted the other driver who refused to exchange insurance information and pulled out a handgun. The subject/vehicle left the parking lot. Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Check Area – 9:49 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a large fight near Allied Park with shots fired. No evidence of shots fired located. Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Check Area – 11:00 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a physical fight with possible guns involved. Officers observed a group of over 50 people in the area. Contact made with several subjects. Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 11:09 p.m. A 40-year-old male subject exposed himself in a parking ramp. The subject was arrested for lewd/lascivious behavior, disorderly conduct, an outstanding warrant and a probation hold.

Priority calls only from 7:24 p.m. to 11:18 p.m. due to calls for service.

CENTRAL: Aggravated/Substantial Battery – 2:36 a.m. Officers responded to a battery involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for substantial battery and disorderly conduct. A 26-year-old male subject received obstructing and failure to render aid to a victim charges.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 4:15 a.m. Officers responded to what was initially called in as a preserve the peace request. An 18-year-old male subject on scene was determined to have probable cause pending for him. The subject fled on foot but was apprehended. The subject was arrested for resisting, domestic disorderly conduct, battery and a probation hold.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 5:27 a.m. Officers responded to a vehicle vs. pole crash. The 61-year-old male driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 7:47 a.m. A subject reportedly was stabbed in our jurisdiction but did not report it at the time and left town. Another law enforcement agency became involved and notified MPD. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital. The subject did not want to provide a statement to officers.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 4:54 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 5:41 p.m. A 28-year-old male subject was arrested for resisting and a probation/parole warrant.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 6:12 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a 40-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct (2 counts) and resisting.

EAST: Disturbance – 7:08 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance with a subject stabbed (but not on scene). The vehicle that the injured subject left in was located unoccupied. The subject who reportedly stabbed the other subject was detained and a knife was recovered. Investigation continuing.

EAST: Disturbance – 10:10 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), armed while intoxicated, 2nd degree reckless endangering safety and disorderly conduct while armed.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 2:05 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and a 29-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of schedule II narcotics.

EAST: Disturbance – 2:32 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a fight with guns involved. No signs of disturbance located when officers checked the area.
