The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 05/03/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 05/04/2023, MPD received 453 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (69),East (86), Midtown (62), North (92), South (57), West (72), and Other (15). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

CENTRAL: Violation of a Court Order – 12:42 p.m. A subject (38-year-old male) violated a court order to not have contact with a specific subject. Subject not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.  

EAST: Mutual Aid – 2:00 p.m. MPD responded to assist with setting spikes in an attempt to stop a vehicle that was fleeing from the Sheriff's office. The vehicle eventually became disabled and 5 occupants fled on foot. MPD assisted with setting up a perimeter and all 5 subjects were apprehended. The Sheriff's office has the lead on this investigation.

NORTH: Disturbance – 4:35 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old male subject. The subject was reported to be armed with a handgun and broke in to the residence. The subject was detained and subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct while armed (2 counts), 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, felon in possession of a firearm and burglary.

NORTH: Intoxicated Driver – 5:48 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject/driver (29-year-old male) who appeared to be under the influence and having difficulty getting into a vehicle in a parking lot. The subject was contacted and confirmed to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense), possession of schedule I narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping.

MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 6:30 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject (41-year-old male) refusing to leave the premises, loitering and exposing himself. He subject was arrested for trespass to medical facility, resisting, disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon.

EAST: Sexual Assault – 7:38 p.m. A victim reported being sexually assaulted by a known acquaintance. A 40-year-old male subject was arrested for 4th degree sexual assault and lewd/lascivious behavior.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 8:50 p.m. A sergeant observed a subject (67-year-old male) in a vehicle with the door open unconscious. The sergeant began lifesaving aid until EMS arrived. Lifesaving measures not successful. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.    

SOUTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 11:05 p.m. A 12-year-old female juvenile ran away after an argument with her parent. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. *Juvenile returned home.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 12:50 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and a 32-year-old male subject was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, felony bail jumping and a probation/parole hold.

SOUTH: Missing Adult – 3:07 a.m. A female subject got upset at her group home and took off on foot. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was listed as missing/endangered in the appropriate databases.
