The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 06/14/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 06/15/2022, MPD received 523 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (65),East (122), Midtown (82), North (101), South (43), West (71), and Other (39). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 12:42 p.m. to 1:26 p.m. due to calls for service.

WEST: Check Person – 5:35 a.m.  Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject.  Subject placed into protective custody and conveyed to a local hospital.  Journey Mental Health consulted.  The subject was voluntarily admitted and officers disengaged.   

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:41 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

SOUTH: Disturbance – 10:30 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a 34-year-old male suspect making threats to people on Baird Street.  Suspect contacted by officers and resistive.  Suspect conveyed to a local hospital for a medical clearance and will then be transported to jail for disorderly conduct, resisting and attempting burglary. 

SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 6:03 p.m.  Officers responded to Olin Park for a suspect (59-year-old male) exposing himself.  The suspect was arrested for lewd and lascivious behavior and bail jumping. 

WEST: Intoxicated Driver – 6:08 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of a driver almost striking a pedestrian in a parking lot and yelling at the pedestrian.  The driver/suspect (44-year-old male) was found to be impaired (huffing).  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and a probation/parole hold. 

CENTRAL: Battery – 10:00 p.m.  Officers met with a victim who reported being physically assaulted on State Street.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Battery – 10:11 p.m.  Officers met with a victim who reported being physically assaulted on W. Gilman St.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 10:40 p.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.  **The vehicle was located/recovered. 

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 11:22 p.m.  Officers responded to a moving vehicle vs. parked vehicle(s) crash.  The driver/suspect (24-year-old female) was found to be impaired.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense) and hit-and-run.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 1:25 a.m.  Officers were flagged down by a victim who reported a suspect (31-year-old male) attempted to assault her.  The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and a probation/parole hold. 

CENTRAL: Theft – 1:44 a.m.  Officers were flagged down by a victim who reported that their bicycle was stolen.  The suspect (20-year-old male) was observed on the bicycle and was detained.  The suspect was arrested for theft of moveable property and carrying a concealed weapon.
