The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 2/20/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 2/21/2024, MPD received 456 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (78),East (81), Midtown (62), North (94), South (48), West (85), and Other (8). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver- 3:39 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a 25-year-old male driver slumped over in a vehicle at an intersection. The driver was contacted and found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

WEST: Check Property – 8:23 a.m. Officers responded to an apartment after the resident located a bullet and a hole in their ceiling. Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Drug Incident – 9:50 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a 35-year-old male subject experiencing a drug overdose. Naloxone administered. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Charges forthcoming.

EAST: Sexual Assault of a Child – 3:07 p.m. Officers responded to a report of sexual assault of a child. Investigation continuing.

MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 3:13 p.m. A 41-year-old female subject was arrested for trespassing and misdemeanor bail jumping.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 4:05 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (74-year-old female). Nothing suspicious identified.

NORTH: Disturbance – 4:35 p.m. Officers responded to a report of numerous subjects fighting in a parking lot.  By the time officers arrived most of the subjects were no longer present. A subject on scene made suicidal statements and was transported to a local hospital where they were voluntarily admitted.

WEST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 4:52 p.m. A 14-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile is a frequent runaway. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

WEST: Missing Adult – 6:39 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 74-year-old male subject (with dementia) who walked away from his assisted care facility. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was located safe and returned home.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 7:05 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 34-year-old male subject "acting crazy and threatening to hit people". Officers contacted the subject who was not cooperative and resistive. The subject was arrested for outstanding probable cause (domestic disorderly conduct, domestic criminal damage to property and theft) and a new charge of resisting.

NORTH: Check Person – 9:04 p.m. Officers received a report of a threats complaint that involved a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and was transported to a local hospital where they were voluntarily admitted. Criminal charges also forthcoming.

MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 9:32 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and numerous counts of bail jumping.

CENTRAL: Check Person – 3:04 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital where they were voluntarily admitted.
