Chief Wray's Blog

Thank you Chief Wray

September 30, 2013 9:03 AM

I've been giving a lot of thought about what I wanted to say in my first blog as the interim Chief of the Madison Police Department. Well it didn't take long to realize that it would only be fitting to use this forum as an opportunity to thank Chief Noble Wray for his service to our department, our city and the citizens of Madison. I have had the honor and privilege to serve under Chief Wray for the last nine years as he has led this department as Chief and I can assure you his commitment and dedication has been unwavering.  He has been a thoughtful Chief who has always been guided by doing the "right thing for the right reasons." His transparency of leadership is a model for all of us to follow as we strive to lead the Madison Police Department in the future. I have learned a great deal from Noble Wray as the Chief and the man, and I am a better man for having served under him. Twenty nine years is a long time to do this job, especially when you are "front and center" as long as Chief Wray.  I am thankful for his service to our profession and this community and I wish him well in his much-deserved retirement.
