The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 10/07/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/10/2022, MPD received 1,166 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (254), East (229), Midtown (197), North (191), South (103), West (151), and Other (41). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

EAST: Stolen Auto – 8:05 a.m.  The victim reported someone stole her vehicle from the parking lot at Fairfield Inn and Suites.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.  Officers took reports of several other vehicles in the area whose windows were broken.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 8:14 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where during an argument, the suspect (24-year-old male) punched the victim, strangled her and threw her around the apartment.  The suspect took the victim's phone when she said she was calling police.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic strangulation, intimidation of a victim, false imprisonment, battery and bail jumping.  Suspect is at large.

EAST: Mental Health Conveyance – 10:23 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a juvenile was fighting with her mother.  The juvenile was placed into protective custody under an emergency detention and transported to a mental health facility.

WEST: Death Investigation – 12:21 p.m.  A family member found the subject (72-year-old female) deceased in her residence.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 4:17 p.m.  The suspect (60-year-old male) refused to leave a residence after a restraining order was issued which required him not to have contact with another resident.  The suspect was arrested for violating a restraining order and resisting arrest.

NORTH: Mental Health Conveyance - 5:30 p.m.  Journey Mental Health requested that officers assist with the transport of a juvenile who was placed into protective custody under an emergency detention.  Officers assisted with the transport to a mental health facility.

MIDTOWN: Missing Adult – 6:02 p.m.  Friends and family members reported receiving suicidal messages from a subject.  Attempt to locate aired.  Officers were unable to locate the subject.  Officers notified Journey Mental Health.  The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases. 

WEST: Stolen Auto – 6:56 p.m.  The victim reported her keys and vehicle were stolen from Planet Fitness.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

EAST: Disturbance – 8:33 p.m.  Officers responded to Woodman's where the victim was trying to get her keys back from the intoxicated suspect (45-year-old male).  The suspect had previously taken the victim's keys without her knowledge.  After being placed under arrest, the suspect threatened officers.  He was charged with threats to law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 10:18 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the intoxicated suspect (34-year-old female) was smashing windows with a metal pipe.  The suspect was arrested for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct while armed.

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 12:07 a.m.  Officers responded to the intersection of E Washington Ave and Zeier Rd where the suspect (42-year-old male) crashed his car into a pole.  The suspect performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and felon in possession of a firearm.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 2:05 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where during an argument, the suspect (21-year-old female) scratched the victim and armed herself with a knife.  The suspect was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct while armed.

MIDTOWN: Suspicious Person – 8:28 a.m.  The suspect (52-year-old male) approached the victim outside a residence and asked her for a cigarette, money and sex.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct.

EAST: Disturbance – 10:00 a.m.  Officers responded to Woodman's for a suspect (31-year-old male) who was intoxicated and yelling at people at the entrance to Woodman's.  Police contacted the suspect at the east transfer point where he was also causing a disturbance.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and threats to law enforcement.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 10:11 a.m.  The victim reported that during an argument, the suspect (32-year-old male) grabbed her and threw her on a bed.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, battery, and resisting.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 10:35 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a juvenile subject punched a door out of frustration during an argument with another family member.  Officers mediated the conflict and no charges were substantiated.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 3:43 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 29-year-old male suspect hitting windows with a broom and shouting.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting. 

NORTH: Drug Incident – 4:24 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver/suspect (31-year-old male) was arrested for possession of cocaine and a parole hold. 

MIDTOWN: Damage to Property – 5:34 p.m.  A resident located a bullet hole in a window.  A bullet was located lodged in a wall.  No other damage reported.  No injuries reported.  The resident was not at home at the time of the incident.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 5:58 p.m. Officers responded to a parking lot where a suspect (36-year-old male) was threatening employees.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, theft, criminal damage to property and bail jumping.

NORTH: Injured Person – 7:02 p.m.  Officers responded to a fight and a subject with a stab wound.  A victim was conveyed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The victim was not cooperative with officers.  Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 7:29 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 17-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for battery. 

EAST: Arrested Juveniles – 8:49 p.m.  Officers were present at a school for a homecoming dance when a report of a subject with a firearm aired.  It was also reported that shots may have been fired.  Two 14-year-old male subjects were found to have been involved in a disturbance.  They were both cited for disorderly conduct.  No evidence of shots fired located at this time.  No reported injuries.  Investigation continuing. 

SOUTH: Trespass – 10:39 p.m.  Officers responded to an alarm at a construction site with a report of a subject/suspect on scene.  A 29-year-old male suspect was contacted and arrested for trespassing. 

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 10:42 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.

EAST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 12:28 a.m.  A 16-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. 

WEST: Adult Arrested Person – 1:12 a.m.  A 49-year-old male subject/suspect who is banned from an address was observed and contacted.  The suspect lied about his identity and attempted to flee from officers.  The suspect was arrested for resisting, obstructing and numerous outstanding warrants. 

CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 2:16 a.m.  A 32-year-old male suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct (3 counts) and sexual assault (4th degree) after inappropriate behavior/touching at a bar. 

NORTH: Theft – 9:03 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a theft by an employee.  Probable cause developed.  Suspect remains at-large.  Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Crash – 10:29 a.m. Officers responded to a crash (vehicle vs building) that involved a driver suffering a medical event.  Driver and passenger conveyed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

EAST: Hit-and-Run/Crash – 10:34 a.m. Officers responded to a hit-and-run with the driver fleeing on foot.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 10:51 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male suspect.  Suspect not on scene.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

CENTRAL: Crash – 11:03 a.m.  Officers responded to a crash with a report of the drivers physically fighting.  A 45-year-old male was arrested for disorderly conduct and a probation violation. 

WEST: Death Investigation – 11:38 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (60-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious observed. 

WEST: Disturbance – 1:42 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving an 18-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. *Suspect located and arrested for battery, disorderly conduct, 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, felony intimidation of a victim, strangulation and kidnapping. 

EAST: Trespass – 1:57 p.m.  A 32-year-old female subject/suspect was called in as being on property where she is banned from.  The suspect attempted to flee when officers arrived but she was apprehended.  The suspect was arrested for resisting, misdemeanor bail jumping, felony bail jumping and outstanding warrants.

CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 2:41 p.m.  A victim reported being sexually assaulted.  Investigation continuing.   

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 4:04 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 6:22 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 47-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

CENTRAL: Battery – 9:41 p.m.  Officers received a substantial battery report that occurred a few days prior.  The 30-year-old male suspect was located and arrested by Sun Prairie PD.  The suspect was arrested for substantial battery and disorderly conduct. 

NORTH: Check Area – 9:46 p.m. Officers responded to the 700 block of Vera Court for reports of shots fired. Areas checked.  No injuries reported.  No property damage reported.  No other evidence of shots fired located. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 11:11 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 61-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct (2 counts), receiving stolen property (3 counts), misdemeanor bail jumping (3 counts), felony bail jumping (4 counts) and threats to law enforcement.

Priority calls only from 12:31 a.m. to 3:14 a.m. due to calls for service.

CENTRAL: Check Person – 12:29 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a subject believed to be armed and threatening people.  A 64-year-old male suspect was contacted and arrested for disorderly conduct and misuse of 911.  No firearm was located. 

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 12:31 a.m.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver/suspect (50-year-old male) was arrested on outstanding warrants. 

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 1:59 a.m.  Officers located a driver/suspect (27-year-old male) passed out in a vehicle stopped at a traffic light.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 2:43 a.m.  A 55-year-old female was arrested for misuse of 911 (for calling dispatch frequently and inappropriately) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
