The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 06/01/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 06/02/2022, MPD received 490 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (79),East (99), Midtown (81), North (82), South (52), West (62), and Other (35). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

06/01

SOUTH: Assist Law Enforcement – 3:21 a.m.  Officers assisted another law enforcement agency with taking two wanted subject/suspects into custody.  The suspects were arrested and transported to jail. 

CENTRAL: Death Investigation – 6:44 a.m.  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (50-year-old male).  Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Medical Examine's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified. 

WEST: Missing Adult – 1:19 p.m.  A 42-year-old female was reported as missing.  Attempt to locate aired.  Areas checked.  The subject was entered as missing in the appropriate databases. 

NORTH: Sexual Assault – 1:45 p.m.  Officers met with a victim who reported being sexually assaulted.  Investigation continuing. 

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 1:49 p.m.  A 39-year-old male wanted subject/suspect was taken into custody on numerous outstanding charges (warrants, domestic-related charges). 

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 2:38 p.m.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver/suspect (31-year-old male) was arrested for outstanding warrants.  The suspect was also arrested for possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping. 

EAST: Sexual Assault of a Child – 3:22 p.m.  Officers responded to a sexual assault of a child report. Child Protective Services notified.  Investigation continuing. 

NORTH: Missing Adult – 3:32 p.m.  An 80-year-old male with dementia was reported as missing.  Attempt to locate aired.  Areas checked.  Silver Alert activated.  Adult located safe and reunited with family. 

NORTH: Recovered Stolen Auto – 4:28 p.m.  A stolen vehicle was recovered unoccupied on Wheeler Court. 

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:37 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 37-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic false imprisonment (2 counts) and domestic disorderly conduct. 

WEST: Disturbance/Mental Health Conveyance – 6:15 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance.  A subject was conveyed to a local hospital and left in the care of medical staff at this time.    

CENTRAL: Recovered Stolen Auto – 6:16 p.m.  A stolen vehicle was recovered unoccupied.  A gun was recovered from the vehicle.  Vehicle towed.  Investigation continuing.

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 7:07 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated driver/suspect (30-year-old male).  The suspect was contacted and determined to be impaired.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense), resisting and a probation/parole hold.   

MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 8:24 p.m.  Officers responded to a local hospital regarding a patient/subject causing a disturbance.  The subject was subsequently transported to Winnebago. 

MIDTOWN: Weapons Violation – 11:53 p.m.  Officers responded to the 4600 block of Verona Rd for multiple reports of shots fired.  While officers were on scene investigating a victim showed up at a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  Shell casings recovered on scene.  Incident Report on MPD's website completed.  Investigation continuing. 

06/02

Priority calls only form 12:23 a.m. to 7:11 a.m. due to calls for service.

EAST: Check Area – 2:08 a.m.  Officers responded to the 5100 block of Great Gray Dr for reports of shots fired.  No injuries or property damage reported at this time.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 4:21 a.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. 

SOUTH: Disturbance – 4:23 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male suspect.  Investigation continuing.
