The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 4/12/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 4/15/2024, MPD received 1,369 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (293),East (294), Midtown (215), North (182), South (146), West (201), and Other (38). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 8:10am: A 41-year-old female subject was arrested for trespassing and conveyed to jail to post on the ticket due to numerous violations of being on property she is banned from.

North/Check Person – 8:37am: Officers received a request from Journey Mental Health to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted and taken into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending.

West/Adult Arrested Person – 8:43am: A road rage incident occurred with a rifle being displayed. The drivers were contacted. A 34-year-old male driver was found with a rifle and a handgun. He was ultimately arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.

Midtown/Death Investigation – 10:11am: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (31-year-old female). The decedent had numerous health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified. Medical Examiner's office responded.

West/Disturbance – 12:48pm: Officers responded to disturbance involving a 46-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed and intentionally using OC spray (3 counts).

West/Adult Arrested Person – 6:29pm: A 30-year-old female (wanted) was located and arrested for retail theft and bail jumping.

Central/Strong Armed Robbery – 6:49pm: Officers responded to a report of a robbery at a business. A 27-year-old male subject was arrested for robbery, disorderly conduct and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

Midtown/Sexual Assault – 10:01pm: Officers received a report of sexual assault. Investigation continuing.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 11:04pm: A consensual contact was conducted with a vehicle and two occupants. A crack pipe was observed in plain view. The driver (41-year-old male) refused to exit the vehicle. The passenger also refused to exit the vehicle but ultimately did comply with the orders from officers. The driver/subject was ultimately taken out of the vehicle. The subject was arrested for resisting, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense) and a probation hold. The female passenger (age not known at the time of this writing) was arrested for felony bail jumping. They both also received charges for possession of a variety of drugs.

East/Death Investigation – 11:23pm: Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (92-year-old female). Nothing suspicious identified. Medical Examiner's office responded.

Priority calls only from 7:48pm to 3:22am due to calls for service.

West/Disturbance – 9:59am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 57-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for criminal damage to property, felon in possession of a firearm and 2 outstanding warrants.

East/Stolen Auto – 11:20am: A vehicle was reported stolen from a hotel parking lot. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate database.

North/Missing Adult – 12:31pm: A 71-year-old male subject was reported as missing (for several weeks). Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases. *The subject was found safe.

West/Domestic Disturbance – 12:40pm: Officers responded to a disturbance. Investigation continuing.

West/Adult Arrested Person – 2:46pm: An 18-year-old male subject (wanted) was located and taken into custody for theft, disorderly conduct (2 counts) and battery (2 counts).

South/Stolen Auto – 3:24pm: A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. Probable cause developed to arrest a 43-yaer-old male subject once he is located for operating a motor vehicle without consent.

Central/Battery – 3:34pm: Officers were on scene when they observed a fight break out. A 42-year-old male subject was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.

North/Check Property – 3:58pm: Officers responded to reports of shots fired and two men shooting at each other. Casings located. No victims located at this time. Investigation continuing.

West/Domestic Disturbance – 5:32pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 63-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, battery and an outstanding warrant from Illinois reference additional domestic battery charges.

Midtown/Death Investigation – 6:55pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (19-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.

South/Missing Adult – 7:31pm: A 30-yaer-old male subject was reported missing from his group home. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was entered as missing in the appropriate databases.

West/Domestic Disturbance – 7:36pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

Midtown/Battery – 7:40pm: Officers responded to a report of a battery involving a 31-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

East/Stolen Auto – 8:38pm: Caller reported that an unknown male subject forced her out of the vehicle and took off (with 2 children inside). The vehicle was located, without the male subject, but with the children safe. Investigation continuing.

West/Disturbance – 8:47pm: Officers responded to a report of a fight in the parking lot of a convenience store. A gun was reported to have been involved. No involved parties on scene when officers arrived. Investigation continuing.

Midtown/Crash – 10:51pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash. The motorcyclist was conveyed to a local hospital with serious injuries. Investigation continuing.

Central/Disturbance – 11:22pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male subject. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.

South/Battery – 11:44pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 42-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for strangulation (2 counts), battery and resisting.

West/Runaway Juvenile – 11:50pm: A 15-year-old female was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as a runaway in the appropriate databases.

East/Weapons Offense – 1:13am: Officers responded to Atlas Court and Cottage Grove Rd for reports of shots fired. Casing located. No reported injuries or property damage at this time. Investigation continuing.

West/Adult Arrested Person – 4:14am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested on outstanding warrants.

South/Stolen Auto – 8am: A vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle/subject (43-year-old male) were located in Rock County. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent.

South/Battery – 9:38am: Officers responded to a report of a battery involving a 20-year-old female subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once she is located.

West/Strong Armed Robbery – 12:19pm: A male subject attempted to steal a victim's purse and a second victim's wallet. Subject fled. K9 track conducted. Investigation continuing.  

Central/Check Person – 1:31pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a 25-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested on a DOC warrant.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 2:50pm: Officers responded to a report of a 43-year-old male subject hitting his dog in the face. The subject was arrested for outstanding warrants. The subject was issued a ticket for animal cruelty and the dog was turned over to animal services.

North/Disturbance – 5pm: A victim had his bike stolen. The victim gave chase, got his bicycle back and was then assaulted by several subjects. Investigation continuing.

West/Crash – 7:46pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. motorcyclist crash. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with injuries. The driver of the vehicle was believed to be impaired. The subject was transported to a local hospital for a warrant blood draw after he refused field sobriety tests. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence causing injury.

Central/Intoxicated Driver – 11:18pm: Officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash with one of the vehicles on fire. No injuries sustained. A 30-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), resisting and hit-and-run. Traffic citations also issued to the subject.

North/Intoxicated Driver – 1:44am: A traffic stop was conducted. The driver/vehicle was slow to stop. The driver (51-year-old male) exited the vehicle and attempted to enter a residence. The subject was not cooperative with officers and actively resisted. The subject was arrested for resisting and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).

North/Mental Health Response – 2:25am: A subject, who intentionally overdosed, was transported to a local hospital voluntarily. While at the hospital the subject became uncooperative. Emergency detention may be sought. Final outcome pending.

East/Death Investigation – 2:43am: Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (28-year-old male). The subject is pronounced deceased. Evidence of drug use observed. Nothing suspicious identified. Medical Examiner's office responded.
