The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 06/24/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 06/27/2022, MPD received 1,367 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (266), East (278), Midtown (200), North (257), South (104), West (184), and Other (78). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 4:59 p.m. to 11:18 p.m. due to calls for service.

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 8:26 a.m.  The victim reported that during an argument, the suspect (27-year-old male) punched her, kneed her in the face and grabbed her throat.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.  Suspect is at large.

WEST: Missing Adult – 9:48 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a subject (91-year-old male) was reported missing.  A silver alert was issued and numerous resources assisted with the search.  The subject was later found unharmed.

EAST: Disturbance – 6:48 p.m.  The suspect (20-year-old male) pushed one of the victims and took her car keys.  The suspect then punched, strangled and threatened a second victim before driving away from the scene at a high rate of speed and crashing his car into a pole.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect with battery, strangulation, and domestic disorderly conduct.  The suspect was transported to the hospital.

SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 7:08 p.m.  Officers took into custody a suspect (32-year-old male) who had warrants for his arrest.  The suspect was booked into jail.

NORTH: Weapons Offense Shots Fired – 8:15 p.m.  An officer heard shots fired near Demetral Park.  As officers arrived in the area, a large crowd fled on foot and in vehicles.  Officers located spent shell casings.  Two houses were struck by gunfire.  No injuries were reported.  Investigation continuing.

EAST: Strong Arm Robbery – 9:47 p.m.  The victim reported he was in the 4800 block of Hayes Rd when a large group of unidentified juveniles approached him and demanded he turn over whatever he had on his person.  The victim did not comply and the suspects tackled him to the ground and punched and kicked him.  The suspects fled the scene.  Investigation continuing.

Priority calls only from 1:03 a.m. to 5:34 a.m. due to calls for service.

WEST: Weapons Offense Shots Fired – 12:04 a.m.  Multiple callers reported hearing shots fired in the 7200 block of Mid Town Rd.  Officers checked the area and found spent shell casings.  No reports of injuries or damaged property.  Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Substantial Battery – 12:10 a.m.  The suspects (21- and 24-year-old females) engaged in a mutual disturbance at a downtown bar.  One suspect struck the other with an empty bottle, causing injuries that required stitches and staples.  The 21-year-old suspect was arrested for substantial battery.  The 24-year-old suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct.

MIDTOWN: Weapons Offense Shots Fired – 2:50 a.m.  Officers responded to the intersection of W Washington Ave and S Park St where callers reported several vehicles shooting at each other.  Officers then heard shots fired in the area of Fish Hatchery Rd and Carver St and observed a vehicle crash into a pole.  Three suspects (18-, 24- and 25-year-old males) who fled the scene on foot were later apprehended.  All three suspects were arrested for 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, operating a motor vehicle without consent and felon in possession of a firearm.  Investigation continuing.

SOUTH: Death Investigation – 7:42 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the subject (41-year-old male) collapsed and stopped breathing.  Life saving measures were unsuccessful.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 10:30 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a family member found the subject (61-year-old male) deceased due to a medical condition.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

EAST: Death Investigation – 11:13 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a family member discovered the subject (60-year-old male) deceased.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 1:14 p.m.  Officers responded to a road rage incident involving a 19-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and reckless driving. 

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 5:47 p.m.  A 27-year-old female subject/suspect with multiple outstanding warrants was taken into custody.  The suspect resisted officers.  The suspect was found to have drugs on her.  The suspect was arrested for the warrants, felony bail jumping (5 counts), resisting, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

NORTH: Weapons Violation – 7:59 p.m.  Officers responded to reports of shots fired.  A 15-year-old male suspect was found to be in possession of a firearm.  The suspect was arrested for possession of a dangerous weapon and was transported to the Juvenile Reception Center. 

EAST: Assist Police – 8:45 p.m.  Officers assisted Monona PD with a traffic stop that involved multiple occupants in the vehicle and a search request.  One of the occupants fled on foot but was apprehended.  Monona PD has the lead on this incident. 

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 9:47 p.m.  A 27-year-old male driver/suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense) and a probation/parole hold.  A gun was recovered/collected from the glove box. 

EAST: Disturbance – 10:54 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for trespassing and obstructing. 

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 10:57 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct. 

MIDTOWN: Traffic Stop – 11:21 p.m.  An officer made a traffic stop.  The vehicle stopped but took off as the officer approached the vehicle.  No pursuit took place. 

CENTRAL: Battery – 11:35 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 16-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and an outstanding capias. 

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 11:48 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 11:52 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance between two subjects/suspects (23-year-old male and 21-year-old male).  The 23-year-old suspect was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct and resisting.  The second suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Priority calls only from 6:08 p.m. to 10:38 p.m. due to calls for service.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 2:02 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic battery and domestic intimidation of a victim. 

MIDTOWN: Check Person – 5:20 a.m.  Officers responded to what was initially reported as a disturbance.  A subject made suicidal statements and was conveyed to a local hospital where she became resistive.  Journey Mental Health plugged in.  Plan is for the subject to be transported to detox and will be issued a citation for resisting. 

NORTH: Damage to Property – 10:03 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence after a hole in the wall and a fragmented bullet were located.  No injuries sustained.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 10:10 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance between two subjects/suspects (32-year-old female and 52-year-old male).  The male suspect was issued a misdemeanor disorderly conduct ticket.  The female suspect was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety.

SOUTH: Assist EMS – 10:26 a.m.  Officers responded, along with EMS, to a report of a child getting sick with an empty prescription bottle near them.  The child was conveyed to a local hospital in stable condition.  Child Protective Services notified.  Investigation continuing. 

NORTH: Death Investigation – 10:41 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a subject (84-year-old male) who could not breath.  The subject was found unresponsive.  Lifesaving measures attempted but not successful.  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified. 

WEST: Violation of Court Order – 1:48 p.m.  Probable cause developed to arrest a 32-year-old male suspect for violating a restraining order.  Suspect remains at-large.

EAST: Sexual Assault of a Child – 3:29 p.m.  Officers received a report of sexual assault of a child.  Investigation continuing.     

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 4:03 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 54-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

WEST: Assist EMS – 4:05 p.m.  Officers responded to a pulseless non-breathing subject.  CCR administered until MFD arrived.  A pulse was obtained and the subject was transported to a local hospital.  Status unknown at this time.  Nothing suspicious identified. 

CENTRAL: Check Person – 5:01 p.m.  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject.  Attempt to locate aired.  Areas checked.  Subject contacted and no legal action deemed appropriate/necessary by officers at this time. 

SOUTH: Fight Call – 5:58 p.m.  Officers responded to a fight in progress.  A 32-year-old female was cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct.  A 23-year-old female suspect was cited for disorderly conduct.  A 13-year-old female suspect was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct. 

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 6:06 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 6:41 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 41-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping and an outstanding warrant. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 6:44 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of a subject armed with a knife chasing another subject at Tenney Park.  The victim reported that the suspect (25-year-old male) took his wallet and belongings.  The suspect was arrested on a probation hold and resisting.  No probable cause developed for the strong armed robbery. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 7:37 p.m.  Officers responded to McPike Park for an active disturbance.  Contact made with a subject over the phone.  No signs of a disturbance identified. 

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 8:50 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 45-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 9:29 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
