The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 09/16/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 09/19/2022, MPD received 1,318 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (285), East (257), Midtown (199), North (247), South (121), West (175), and Other (34). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 10:12 p.m. to 11:26 p.m. due to calls for service.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 3:29 a.m.  An officer conducted a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle as the vehicle was deviating from its lane of traffic and the license plate did not match the vehicle.  The driver/suspect (44-year-old male) performed poorly on field sobriety tests.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense) and cited for numerous traffic violations.

CENTRAL: Non-Residential Burglary – 4:22 a.m.  Officers responded to a business where the owner received a notification from the security company that someone was breaking into the business.  The owner reported hundreds of lottery tickets were stolen.  Investigation continuing.

EAST: Runaway Juvenile – 11:03 a.m.  A mother reported her 15-year-old daughter had been staying at a separate residence with her boyfriend and was not attending school.  The juvenile was listed as missing.  CPS was notified.

NORTH: Disturbance – 11:58 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a suspect was reportedly attempting to shoot the caller's fiancé.  Involved parties were not cooperative with police.  The suspect was not located. Investigation continuing.

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 4:27 p.m.  An officer observed a vehicle violate multiple traffic laws.  The officer initiated a traffic stop but the suspect vehicle fled.  The vehicle was later located unoccupied, confirmed to be stolen and the registered owner was notified.  Investigation continuing.

EAST: Weapons Offense – 8:39 p.m.  During an argument, the suspect (16-year-old female) armed herself with two knives and charged at the victim.  No one was injured.  The suspect was arrested and transported to the Juvenile Reception Center on charges of disorderly conduct while armed.

NORTH: Intoxicated Driver – 8:51 p.m.  Officers responded to a parking lot in the 2000 block of Northport Dr for a suspect (41-year-old female) who was reportedly driving around an apartment complex yelling and swearing at people.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (5th offense) and multiple counts of bail jumping.

CENTRAL: Check Person – 9:11 p.m.  Officers observed a suspect (34-year-old male) in the 600 block of State St who is prohibited from being in this area.  The suspect refused to leave the area and instead opened a can of beer, violating another rule of his probation.  The suspect was arrested for a probation violation and possess/consume open container on public street.

EAST: Weapons Offense – 10:24 p.m.  Officers responded to a convenience store for a report of a disturbance.  Two subjects reported that they were following the suspect vehicle outbound on Milwaukee St when the suspect vehicle fired 2-3 rounds at their car.  There were no reports of injuries.  Investigation continuing.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 10:30 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the suspect (33-year-old male) struck the victim.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic battery.  The suspect is at large.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 11:18 p.m.  The victim reported that the suspect (25-year-old male) slapped, punched and grabbed her while she was driving, causing her to lose control of the vehicle.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic disorderly conduct, battery, and 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety.  The suspect is at large.

Priority calls only from 5:50 p.m. to 11:22 p.m. due to calls for service.

NORTH: Battery – 12:29 a.m.  The victim reported that her ex-boyfriend (39-year-old male) and two other unidentified suspects held her down, punched her, and struck her in the head with a bottle.  The victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.  The suspects are at large.  Investigation continuing.

SOUTH: Runaway Juvenile – 12:35 a.m.  A mother reported her 15-year-old son ran away.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 3:25 a.m.  The victim reported that the suspect (36-year-old male) attacked her and stole her handgun.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic substantial battery, disorderly conduct and bail jumping.  The suspect is at large.

CENTRAL: Weapons Offense – 3:55 a.m.  Officers responded to a local hospital for a victim who reported he was walking on Langdon St when an unidentified suspect demanded his cash.  The victim resisted and was cut.  The victim provided limited information to police and left the hospital after receiving stitches.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Stolen Auto – 5:01 a.m.  The victim reported he left his vehicle on the street with the keys in it when two suspects jumped into the victim's vehicle and drove off.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen as stolen in the appropriate databases.

SOUTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 7:09 a.m.  Officers made contact with a subject who was disoriented and delusional.  The subject was transported to a hospital. Final outcome pending. 

WEST: Runaway Juvenile – 11:57 a.m.  A mother reported her 17-year-old son ran away.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. ** Juvenile returned home. 

MIDTOWN: Check Person – 12:16 p.m.  Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of a mental health evaluation.  Journey Mental Health plugged in.  An emergency detention was not supported.  Plan in place for a voluntary admit.  Officers disengaged. 

EAST: Disturbance – 1:25 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance.  A 22-year-old male was cited for disorderly conduct.  A 21-year-old male was cited for carrying a concealed weapon. 

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 2:57 p.m.  Officers initially dispatched to a report of a disturbance.  A driver/suspect (34-year-old female) was contacted in her vehicle.  The suspect was found to be impaired.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense). 

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 3:39 p.m.  A traffic stop was conducted and a 25-year-old male suspect was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and felony bail jumping. 

WEST: Stolen Auto – 4:10 p.m.  A vehicle was stolen from a residential garage.  A credit card was also stolen and used.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. 

NORTH: Disturbance – 4:46 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 35-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for resisting, attempt to disarm a peace officer, misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts) and a probation/parole warrant. 

NORTH: Disturbance – 5:48 p.m.  A victim reported that her boyfriend shot at her as she drove away from the residence.  No scene located.  No evidence of shots fired located.  The victim provided false information.  At this time no shooting is believed to have occurred.   

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 8:11 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 35-year-old male suspect.  Suspect not on scene.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

EAST: Crash/Property Damage – 10:31 p.m.  A vehicle/driver struck a pole.  The driver/suspect fled initially but was located and found to be impaired.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and released to a responsible party. 

SOUTH: Drug Incident – 10:47 p.m.  Officers responded to two subjects/suspects (52-year-old female and 51-year-old male) experiencing drug overdoses.  The male suspect was arrested on a probation/parole violation.  The female suspect was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony bail jumping and a bench warrant. 

SOUTH: Disturbance – 11:56 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance.  A 24-year-old male was arrested on a probation/parole hold and disorderly conduct.  A second suspect was identified but no longer on scene.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 1:14 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance with a report of a gun displayed.  Suspect identified but not contacted at this time.  Investigation continuing.  **20-year-old male suspect was contacted and arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety and disorderly conduct while armed. 

EAST: Battery – 2:33 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male suspect.  Suspect not on scene.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located.    

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 3:43 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 35-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

WEST: Death Investigation – 8:21 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (50-year-old female).  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified. 

EAST: Death Investigation – 9:45 a.m.  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject.  Entry made to the residence and the subject (82-year-old male) was located deceased.  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified. 

MIDTOWN – Check Person – 12:11 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of a subject walking and carrying a butcher's knife.  The subject was contacted and placed into protective custody after making suicidal statements.  Subject conveyed to a local hospital.  Final outcome pending. **Subject transported to Winnebago. 

WEST: Retail Theft – 2:41 p.m.  Officers responded to a retail theft involving a 36-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony retail theft (numerous counts) and a probation/parole hold. 

EAST: Check Person – 3:21 p.m.  A subject approached officers and stated they were suicidal.  The subject was conveyed to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health plugged in.  Subject voluntary.  Officers disengaged. 

NORTH: Battery – 3:34 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct. 

EAST: Check Property – 9:50 p.m.  Officers responded to reports of shots fired.  Areas checked.  No evidence of shots fired located.  No reported injuries or property damage. 

CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 11:43 p.m.  A victim reported being sexually assaulted.  A 33-year-old male suspect was arrested for sexual assault (4th degree) and disorderly conduct.

WEST: Death Investigation – 1:57 a.m. Officers responded to residence for a subject on the ground.  Lifesaving measures attempted but not successful.  The subject (49-year-old female) was pronounced deceased.  Evidence of drug use on scene.  Medical Examiner's office responded. 

MIDTOWN: Weapons Offense – 1:58 a.m.  A victim observed a suspect going through his vehicle and made contact.  The suspect pointed a gun at the victim.  The suspect fled.  Investigation continuing.
